Hi Merv - no a 2007 same blue as yours - fly to AK Sat AM and plan to ride back via Raglan to Awakino - taking in gravel roads

Keep an eye out for wandering bus shelters.
Congrats ! We'll see you on the HBAR for a test-ride then ?

hi Tony - you know the story what goes on tour stays on tour (the bus shelter incident that is) :stupid:

And yep I'm certainly looking at your ride with interest - have floated the idea (of a leave pass) with 'her indoors'

Hi Aslan

After riding the 42nd the week after you lot I've decided to upgrade my 250 to a DRZ400. Hopefully we'll catch up with you on a ride somewhere. I'm also intending to go back and spend some more time in that area.

Cheers - Des

Hi Des - yes the DRZ's are great fun machines - MotoXNUT and TonyW had huge grins on their faces on the TTTTT.

Likewise, if you need a pick up from the airport in auckland & lift to the new bike let me know. I can't offer to ride back down to Raglan with you, a little too busy at work at the moment. Bugger!

Congratulations

Let me know when you want to test it out on the Mugatooks to Karapoti run :)

I presume you sold the DR350?

Definatly check out the problems (http://dr650.wikia.com/wiki/Potential_problems_to_be_aware_of) page. The neutral sender unit screws loosen and the upper chain roller has gone bye bye on almost all DR650 I've seen. You new bike being a 07 should have none of the other issues.

:Offtopic: thanks Bass, Crisis & Young1 for offers of help / accom. Fantastic. Vendor is meeting me at AKL airport.

Young1 aka Mike - staying with you (which gets me closer to Wellywood for a Sun AM off) is attractive - I'll reach you directly.

Ryan - thanks for the advice around the known issues.

MarkS - keen to ride the Akatarawa's with you - prolly need to fit more agressive tyres eg D606's - however it will be my daily commuter as well.

Yes the DR350 went about a month ago - great bike - a little small physically for me and luggage on longer trips.

Cheers all - Aslan aka Stephen O
