That was the Hanjin Pennslvania, on 11 Nov 2002,only 4 months old, on only her second voyage to Europe, and about 150 km from Sri Lanka bound for Europe.
The first explosion occurred on deck 4, from unknown origin, possiblly an undeclared dangerous cargo, Calcium Hypochlorite.
4 days later a second explosion occurred due to fires spreading from the first explosion. This second explosion was on deck 6, with containers containing magnesium ingots. A huge fire results, forcing the crew to abandon ship.
The ship was towed to a port to discharge the containers and the vessel was sold to Indian breakers since the rebuilding costs would be more expensive than demolishing the ship. Zodiac Maritime (UK) bought the ship, refurbished her for nearly 50% of the price of a new ship and she is now sailing around as the "Norasia Bellatrix".

Bulk cement, and bulk flour are pretty good at making huge explosions. Especially when a torpedo hits 10 feet below the waterline without popping hold hatches.
