Hi all,

I'd like to hear practical advice/wisdom/etc on the effects of playing with tyre sizes.

My bike is a 97 Aprilia RS250. 110/70 on the front and 160/60 on the rear. These are the tyre sizes on it when I bought it so thats what I've stuck with when replacing tyres. However, the owners manual for the bike says I should have 120/60 - 150/60.

I'm keen to try a set of the new Diablo Rosso's and apparently they're not available in a 110/70?? If I were to stay with a 160/60 on the rear would a 120/60 be a reasonable substitute for a 110/70?

Cheers -- Greg

I put a narrower tyre on my bike - you get less chickenstrip available and a "flatter" profile and a more vertical sidewall.

Just puting a narrower tyre on is,nt gona give a flatter profile or less chickenstrips as to me it would depend on the profile of the tyre.

Im no expert but the 120\60 is what the manual says should be on it so dont see a problem.
