Sounds like someone knocked it over and picked it back up again. So much for "Unfaired bikes don't get damaged when they fall over" eh?

Damn ! I can feel your pain my friend..... everyday I park my bike on the side of the road and think about it all day. Everytime I feel a little anxious about it I just know thats my esp telling me that some little prick is sitting on it !! have to restrain myself from running out of work to check on it!...... I wish I had some constructive advice for you. Other than checking the cctv I am not sure if there is alot you can do. Maybe put up a poster in the carpark? with pics of your bike??? maybe someone saw something happen?

If there is one thing that gets me about this sort of thing it is the gutless shits that damage a vehicle and dont put their hands up for it! I can totally feel your pain mate. Never had it with a bike but certainly with cars.

Lets hope there is camera footage that will show clearly the rego of the vehicle involved. Harder to swallow though is that fact you think it is another biker  :2guns: Unbelieveable!!

Best of luck sorting this. Get an estimate of repair before making an insurance claim too if you cant find insured dickhead. In the long run it may be cheaper to suck it up and repair your ride than claim.

Maybe somebody tried to move it to teach you a lesson but dropped it..

Sorry. Dark Humour.

That sucks mate, I hope the cctv helps you out but they always seem to be useless when something's been done to YOU. But when you break into a bank, there's 6 of them that have enough detail to see the dirt under your finger nails..

sucks, man. Level 2, over the far side? Someone moved the rf there one day, didnt damage it but was weird. Still had the disc lock on, and no damage. Lots of scooter riders park there, had a few park 'under' my bike.

Good luck with the CCTV footage.

Damage looks strange from what I could make out in the in focus pics. Looks like it's been dropped but the dent in the tank area almost looks like something has been dropped on it or it's been hit with a bar or something. Good luck with any security footage, maybe go down in the middle of the day and see what bikes are parked there to check for any tell tale clues. Sucks dude.

Jeebus, that poor little ol'hornet of yours is sure feeling a lot of dings and pain! To have someone do that to your pride and joy and sneak off without 'fessing up to it shows low character

I think the biker gods are seeing if you have the character to keep loving the little ol'hornet

Let karma sort out the culprits and get back to fixing your ride :weep:

Yep definitely been dropped, are there any bollards near where you park, maybe it was dropped and a bollard hit it making the tank mark, or even worse some feeker tipped it over then picked it up and whacked the tank, was it parked in exactly the same spot you left it ?

No no bollards and nah didnt look like it had been moved a bit, it was well out of the way for any body carrying anything, the tank seriously looks deliberate there scratches you cant se in the pics also, bloody depressing,

and sorry gi joe no biker god's to me lol, 1 and only but i know what your saying. this the 3rd time someone else has damaged my bike, 1st time was mainfreight who did huge amounts,
2nd some prick keyed the tank and the rear set out side work just before i had my 1st crash ( reason i decided on car park building )
3rd this

and I dont have any enemys havnt cut anyone off havnt done anything to anyone :-(

16th October 2008, 21:01
i dont think it was droped because u look at the pics its on top of the tank, and my crash bung saved my tank when i crashed so....

what sucks is it really does look deliberate to me... Why i don't know. Gets you down, I got so much other things I have to get done before my bike this just tops it off . not a good time for myself ( how sad is that having a waaahh on public forum )

Know how you feel, to an extent. Parked up once and came back, hopped on, started up and nearly went WHAM! into a wall. Some shitsucking faggot had played with my idle speed setting. Best thing is to park somewhere public but not walked I.E near the footpath where everyone walking past can see it but people don't walk too close.

this is in a closed car park building, away from the cars and heaps of room for perestrian's.. only other bikes parking near me. time for a alarm i think. really gets to me

17th October 2008, 07:14
I've got an alarm - best thing on the planet. (Ok, maybe not but it is cool)

Was walking past where I park my bike the other day and saw some guy having a good look at all the bikes. Saw him touch mine and try to straighten the bars (fuckhead!) of course it was on steering lock but shit did I laugh when the alarm went off and he lept in the air...at which point I said to him "MY BIKE IS TELLING YOU TO FUCK OFF AND DON'T TOUCH!" He scurried away with his tail between his legs looking very embarrassed and guilty - hopefully he won't do that to any bikes ever again

You were lucky to have been walking past and seen that - otherwise you would have missed out on one of the most enjoyable moments in your life! Fuck I wish I had been there to see it too - I probably would have hurt myself from laughing too hard!

I would be livid if someone did that to my (so far) scratch and dent free bike. Sorry to hear about that.

One of two things will happen, you'll either catch him (hoping the CCTV helps), or he will get what is coming to him.

Can you see any other foreign paint in the scratches or tank dent? Can you find your paint on any surrounding place in the carpark? Trying to determine whether and "where" it was hit by / into something. Could indicate how far it had been moved. Seems like a lot of damage for just being toppled over. Surely it had to be intentional or via another vehicle? The steering lock would limit the amount it could be moved.

Do you have a disc lock on your bike? I use these as a visual queue so it's less likely people will move it. I've thought about putting something like a "warning alarmed" sticker or note on the bike, just to deter the curious.

I've also been considering leaving my cellphone number and message under the grab strap / somewhere on the bike - saying "if you need to move this (or whatever) - please call me on ... and I'll happily come down"

I hope you get a good result. Let us know how you go.

Dave.

Mate,
That is crap luck man, some people need a hot zorst up their jacksy.
I used to know a guy who ran the facilities management in that building, dont know if he is still there but I'll have a word and see if he can help with footage, other riders who park in the area etc etc. Pound to a pinch of s**t someone saw it happen, I'll see what I can do.
It's s shame mate, your pain is felt in this house.
