Hi

All moved to auckland a month ago and decided to go back to having a bike. Posted about getting one a while ago and didn't as had need of a car.

What bike shops can people reccomend in auckland I'm out in whenuapai so close by would be good.

Am looking at a Kawasaki Ninja250R the 2009 model so a Kawasaki dealer would be useful.

Will be buying full set of gear but have a specific list of the gear I want.

any help would be good thanks

Barry's Point Road in Takapuna.

Suzuki, Triumph, Honda, Kawasaki dealers there, plus Cycletreads.

That's definitely the right place to start.

However the distance from Whenuapai to Takapuna means he might as well travel the little bit further into the city and check out Mt Eden/Red Baron/Coleman's - never know which one will have the shiny something that will catch his eye. :)

Good honest people, sometimes doing themselves out of a sale to give good advice.:second:

P.S. leave yourself plenty of time when you go in to Spectrum, those guys are there doing it coz they love bikes & if you get them started they have some great riding stories to tell...

Hi Dragon, welcome to Whenuapai. As what the others have said, there's plenty of good dealers here.

I'm also on Base, we have a good M/C division of the Base sports club & we do Wednesday arvo rides (WAR) on a regular basis. Flick me (F/S Rob Powell)an e-mail this week & I'll get you on the mailing list. There's plenty of bikers on base that can assist you getting to/from the dealers.

On KB we do regular rides around the local area (ATNR) and there is an excellent 250 community.

Hi Matey,
I was reccomended Coleman Suzuki by a mate and they were top class. Sorted me the bike, lid, gear and even a $50 voucher when the bike turned up. I had a few teething problems in the first week and they sorted me quick and easy as well.
Good luck mate, take care, ride safe and eat pies

You'll be in good hands at Mt Eden mate, got my ER6F from there and whenever there's something needed to be done (services etc) I'm greeted on first name basis by all the staff and they always have new stories to tell.. not to mention they let me linger around the shop much longer than I should!

Tamsin is great too, just don't ask her about the blinged out green ZX6R there, your ears may ring for a few days!

I'm heading in again this morning to drool over the bike again (am taking cup to catch it in) and have a good look at the gear range available. If I buy a bike next week I won't be able to pick it up till after the 27th.

So anyone got some information on Dainese gear.

Only these two points:
1. It's good
2. Buy it.

I love my Dainese jacket - sooooo comfy.

Mt Eden M/C good place and good service. Dainese leathers are good - pricey too...

I'm not worried about the cost of safety I would rather spend more money on gear then not and end up injuring myself more if I do come off. I have a budget that allows for good gear and a bike and probably change when thats done or so one of the people at mt eden said.
