I remember a friend buying one NEW with his student load money :laugh:
Black chrome pipes, little round chrome end caps on the cams, orange bits, shaft drive......

He imported a 550 from the UK - It's absolutly mint for such an old girl - about to be rebuilt too.

I wouldn't own one though.

You are thinking of pop up headlight katanas like katmans i do believe.

We are talking about the same model bike as i have...

I restored a 1981 or 82 Katana 650 from a trailer load of bits in 1999. Bloody great little bike. If I had known in 1982 just how good they were, I would have bought one instead of riding around on my 1978 XS 650D Yammie.
I've got a Clymer workshop manual here for the GS650G if anyone wants it, and a right hand side cover from a 650 Katana... it's new and just needs painting
