Slow loading of KB?

Anyone apart from me having problems with the loading speed of KB website? Last couple of days it has had periods when loading takes forever....ONLY this website on my machine and doesn't matter which browser I use.....gremlins somewhere?

I was ready to throw my computer out the window as I thought it was because I aint on broadband, but seeing that you are having the same trouble as I am when it comes to getting onto this site I now realise it aint the computer at all. I find that sometimes when I am on the KB site for any longer than half an hour it automatically logs me out. Does this happen to anyone else?.

Not to me. Once I've logged in, I stay logged in until the next time I clear the cookies from my browser. You might like to take a look at the privacy options on your browser.

That very question was brought up a while ago...and the suggestion was, to click 'remember me' when you login.

nope then again i am the only one who uses this pc so i am set to automatic log in.

It just took me 5 minutes to load this page, and I'm at work on a super fast connection. At home, on dialup I would have no chance of getting on.

Yes indeed, glad you posted this, I was just about to take a hammer to the puta. Everything else runs almost instantaneously but Kb is taking 2 mins to load anything.

It's an ongoing problem. We need a new server, hence why Spank has been asking for opinions on which OS to use. We'll upgrade sometime soon, but until then you'll just have to suffer and/or get a life ...... errr did I say that out loud?

I have tracked down the recent slowdowns of the site to the IP 124.189.181.198 (CPE-124-189-181-198.nsw.bigpond.net.au) hitting the site with multiple connections. A DOS attack? dunno, but all it does is a HTTP "GET /", so all connections from that IP are now dropped.
