My cunning plan is to only go to rallies that you WON'T be at - thereby giving myself more money to spend on beer for ME.

and that'll be the last time I help out any more mainlanders. Knew there was a reason for it, they hog all the beer :disapint:

So that's it, so far out of all the Kbers we have:
idb, self + Chrissy-Bimbo attending the Vincent rally.
White-Trash with his lip down about me drinking all the beer.
That's it?
Last time I got so little response to anything was when I suggested wearing used nappies for hats.

Well, I can't say that the idea of wearing used nappies for hats really does much for me, but hey... whatever spins ya propeller.
Myself the missus and a mate are heading down to the Vincent rally. Looking forward to it.. just hoping the weather holds out, our tent is not as waterproof as it used to be :(

Calm your meteorological concerns Nivlac.
I'm looking out the window (Queenstown) at no clouds and 24 degrees and Alexandra has been mid 30s all week.
I'd say the heat is likely to be more of a problem.
Have to keep those fluids up!

Central Otago today is once again fine & clear. Its going to be another HOT one.
From home last night I could hear some of the bikes arriving, but unfortunately I'm stuck at work all weekend. Any riders arriving in town from the Cromwell direction, how about detouring through Clyde and tooting at the Clyde Dam as you pass. At least that way I'll still feel as though I'm with you. :spudwave:

2 hrs until I knock off work, and its already 38 in the shade. I've seen plenty of bikes going past on their way to the rally and I'm tempted to go along as well. Too bad if the day's activities are almost over, I can still have a :apint: or two with Scumdog and crew.
Anyone else still heading there?

Great rally, biggest turn out yet, no hassles except for a wanker on a H-D and one one a Jap 4 bnager that insisted on giving them the 'message' in the small hours, the H-D guy did it about three times!! - plus it made my mechanical mind cringe when I heard him fire up the bike from cold and 2 seconds later wind it to the red-line! The Jap bike owner held it on the rev-limiter for 4-5 seconds at a time when he did it, effing dicks!!
The heat was almost (well WAS) unbearable so Chrissy-Bimbo and self retired to the river (along with 100+ others) and sat in it up to our necks, sipping our cold-but-rapidly-warming beers! Much hilarity was had by all but I was a bit suspicious that the water looked a bit yellow!!
Even after being in the river for 11/2 - 2 hours I still never felt cold, you just had to be there! - never felt heat like it, still the scantily clad ladies wandering around compensated for it a bit - not sure what THEY thought of me in my satorial elegance - jocks and t-shirt!!.
Caught up with ibd for the first time plus also caught up with Toddy and Janter and their mates.
More later when I've hosed the bike down.

I tried having a bit of a kip at home this afternoon, but it just got too bloody hot in the bedroom. (Nothing to do with Mrs J either). The temperature on our patio was showing 42 in the shade, and out the back of the house is was a neat 40.
I almost feel sorry for those who had to ride any distance in that heat.

It was hot......damned hot!
All I took with me were my leathers so I had to wander around stewing.
There was no relief to be had on the bike either.
Good to catch up with you SD, sorry I never caught up with Jantar & Todd, I got too busy amazing others with the sense I can make at a late hour and the time just slipped away.
Congratulations on your win in the 'slow race' on the HD, I thought you might have been disqualified cos you actually had it tapped out but then you won anyway.
Chrissy looked to be pretty confident on the bike as you went out the gate. It's a big bike for a little lady (non-PC sorry).
Whats the next one?

At least one biker never made it to the site. There is one LARE Bruce laying flat on his back in Dunedin ublic with a suspected broken back. Hell of a way to get a chopper ride, things dont look to bad(if you consider a broken back not too bad that is) it is a compression injury and should be out of hospital in four to seven days, but will be not doing a hell of a lot for about six months. :doctor:

Seems it could have been a lot worse, still the poor bugger will be a bit sore eh?

Trail riding over the hills to the site, think he was actually on Beaumont(sp) Station where he had his spill. ad an Xray and waiting for a full scan, they seem hopefull of not finding any nasties in the scan

Im still recovering, never made it to the river as was holding up the bar with an old mate I worked in Australia with. Lost me Harley cap, gutted , left it on a cable drum and someone wanted it as it was gone when I went back for it. Got another dose of monkey butt from the CBR seat. I found out that the rev limiter cuts in at 182 in 2nd. Its just about as fast as Scummys Sporty. Cheers Toddy

Well, all I can say is "what a bloody awsome weekend".
Would have to rate it as one of the best rallies we've been on... great site, excellent weather, terrific ride and a damn good bunch of people. ('cept for that friggen HD rider in the early hours of the morning... mumble mumble)
We kept our eyes open for KB shirts/stickers etc but didn't see any... maybe next time.
The river next to the site was just the best thing... after our ride through to Arrowtown on Saturday it was so good to be able to shed the leathers (in record breaking time) and head straight down to the water, pausing only long enough to get a few cold cans from the bar. Surprisingly not many people seemed to discover the great swimming hole just a little upstream... much better than sitting in knee deep water.
Still amazed how warm it stayed on Saturday night... so warm infact that the missus needed almost no encouragement at all to enter the wet-t.
Anyway, we hope that everyone else that attended has as much fun as we did... I know I'll be marking it on the calendar for next year.

Heard somebody was out with their leatherman looking for the noisy Harley, would have been a hoot listening to the starter grinding over while the dick who owned the H-D tried to get it going with the tops broken off both plugs!! :niceone:
