To the nice guy that stopped and dropped a litre of gas into my very empty motorcycle tonight....thankyou!! :2thumbsup :thud:

I'm very glad the SRV is a light little thing, its a good uphill walk from Massey to the nearest BP!

Now the question is, what happened to the reserve? Yokai, you ever had any mysterious 'no reserve tank' issues with yours?

Sometimes I have heard of people taking/cutting off the main pipe in the tank, and effectively making reserve and main the same take off level. No idea why that would be done though...

I have heard that same idea. Wonder who thought it up and what their motive was??

I gotta ask...

The SRV ran out of gas and died on the 'main' tap setting. So you pulled over, switched to reserve, and... hit the starter once? You do need to crank it a bit if you've run the carbs dry.

Nope, hit the starter many many times. It got us about 500 metres before pooting out again. The tank was dry as a bone.
