We just got one of these Nerve jackets, like this one ;
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Helmets-clothing-footwear/Leathers-jackets/auction-182886602.htm
Things we like about it ;
Attractive fit and cut
Strong Cordura fabric
Great colour scheme
3M Reflective panels
Rain deflector on the outside of zip (mohsin is on the inside)
Nice and cool for the summer - zip vents etc.
Tough armor where it counts
Liner goes right down to the cuffs
Things we're not so keen on ;
Its quite short in the body.. pity it wasnt 2-3cm longer. Maybe a larger size? but then it wont fit the torso area so well.
um, um, um.. not much else comes to mind.
Recommended as a strong, safe, very-smart looking summer-weight sports jacket. It will never be as strong as a leather race suit, nor will any other lightweight cordura jacket, but easily as strong, or stronger than Mohsin or Dririder. Not as warm as DriRider by a long shot, but thats for winter use.
We have Dririder, Mohsin, and Nerve jackets. Dririder best for winter, Nerve better than Mohsin at first glance.. and second glance.

Just a minor point - until it rides up in a slide.

Sure, it's possible for all jackets to ride up in a slide, though the longer the jacket and the better the fit the better the odds it wont.
Obviously a jacket zipped to the pants is going to improve odds significantly too.

Good to hear that they are hald decent jackets. I was looking at them today on TM, but I'm often dubious that the products aren't just shite knock-offs ! :slap:

The jackets arent bad for chinese made, Nerve is German brand made under licence in China. The Lincra jackets and Pants on trademe are pretty good,well made.

There is an additional back protector that is purchased separately. This slides in a full-length zipper pouch just under the collar. I'll order one and report on it.

The back protector arrived this morning. Its just a piece of open-cell foam that fits in the zip pouch on the back of the jacket. Its not reeeeely thirty bucks worth in my opinion. If I knew it was going to be this slim, I'd had just cut up a piece of closed-cell foam lying around and stuffed it in the pocket. It is most certainly not a proper rigid back protector - oh well.
Worth it? Spose, but not really. Its not really a back "protector". More just a little more padding - emphasis on the "little".

You could have bought my Teknic CE-approved 7-plate back protector for $60...

I have one of these. They have 2 kinds, and I have the slightly longer one.
I also use the NERVE pants with it. Over winter I have only had a couple of minor leaks in it.
I now use it with one of the leathers (the interstate jacket) underneath. I can handle rain hail and snow - even 5:30 AM callouts to work in a frost.. no worries. The only cold bit is the damn fingers..
I am 110KG and 6'1" (185cm) and have quite a long torso, so I use the 4XL jacket and pants in both leather and non leather and they fit fine.
FWIW, if you go there, they give great service and the price is (understandably) usually a bit lower. I paid $140ea for the Nerve jacket and pants and $299 for the leather. Thats a pretty cheap all weather kit imho.

They weren't too bad, Had one myself. But found it way too short for comfort.. Upgraded to RJays. Found it a better fit.
The Nerve jacket is good for someone who has a short Midriff

Should note that they dont appear to have them on their shop in trade me, you have to go into their place in manukau.
