6 weeks now, laid up, but getting around ok now, but godang, fuck TradeMe, its killing my wallet.
Time to spare, net to surf.
Brought 2 motorbikes and a horse, so far.
Its all TM's fault.
Better delete my watch list.

Could be worse I spose, could be dead.
Or Helen Clark's cervical smear taker.

Had a hip replacement mate.
Had similar injuries to you plus a bit more 12 years ago as a result of a car wreck.
The hip finally gave way after untold surgies, pins, etc etc, plates etc, where I had no choice but to get it replaced.
But all good, went for my first ride, all up 100kms the other day, just over 5 weeks from chop date.:Punk:

Good to hear you are on the improve.. and may it continue so. My casts are there still for another 3 or 4 weeks, so thats a major as cant even drive the car!! And there are only so many hours you can spend trawling KB!!

Yeah the net can get so borrrrring, but besides telly etc, not a lot to do.
Time will go fast and things always get better fast, mind you I always believe a positive attitude helps.
At one time when I was in ICU for 6 weeks after my crash, every bastard in the beds around croaked, including a 3 yr old.
They were carting them out of there everyday to the extent I was the only one left!!!
Used to think, holy fuck, better stay awake, I'm next!

Good luck keep the chin up, think of blighty:2thumbsup

Thanks mate, will definately check them out.
Been looking for an SP for a long while actually.

The bike I got is complete, all the indicators, lights, instruments etc.
Pretty damn good actually, goes ok.
Was gonna restore it to road legal but think I'll make it into a VMX replica, update, but keep it looking semi original.
Will use it around my land here for a play, this summer then tear it down over Winter.

Shit know how you feel.Went to the doc and after first bloods returned he stuck me in hospital for tests, released after 5 hours, then various tests, after a month off work they found a tumour, another 17 days and surgery,in hospital for 8 days(ICU was ok for 4 days).

Released the day after my birthday and told need chemo and radiotherapy,so waited a month to start.Specialist oncology doc said best to stay off work if possible so all up nearly 9 months on benefit, till back part time.

Lookin back,it was no fun and still wonder how the hell we got through it(pig headed comes to mind),still is better to be alive than dead, which if I had left going to the doc would have happened. Now 5 years ago seems not an issue at all, being the time recovering.

My worst thing was subscribing to sky, then when rugby started getting sport on,watching live rugby was ok,watching f.cken reruns during the week was not lol.

Yeah the novelty soon wears off of sitting at home relaxing doing stuff all.
2 years on crutches for me, months in hospital, drove me nuts, plus all the usual bullshit associated with the health system.
Got sent home once after a so called repair on my hip with an infection in it.
The pain was so intense, I recall, dunno how, taking about 20 or 30 pills of nurofen, panadol, codeine, and whatever was around in half an hour to ease to before calling the ambulance.
Then 10 days of going to theature for a general anaesthetic to clean out my leg infection. Then they decided that it was best to leave the wound open and do it in my bed, via a huge morphine shot an hour before the op, and sucking on the nitrous bottle while I watched then deep in my leg digging around.
The bonus was the kind hearted orderly would leave the nitrous bottle with me all day so I sucked on it, got wasted all day............kinda made the day pass fast:laugh:

Cant actually remember! but past your place and on the right about 10k before tikokino- road does a shrp left and down over a one way bridge then up into a right and a left and flattens out- his farm on right with daffodils in front paddock and shearing shed just after the two houses. Ist house is a flat roofed art deco place surrounded by a hedge, his house is just a plain old weatherboard farm house 100m back from road -there will be a newish Commodore in the drive- has been since the early 80s!

Put it back on the road Dooly, the old girl doesnt look like she needs much to restore, just the Re hard chroming of the tops of the fork legs, most hydraulic Engineers should be able to tell you where you can get this done and the tubes reground back to size.

The thing is I have 3 road legal bikes, what with extra rego, and the getting it rereg and vinned etc etc, insurance, and living 28 kms from town I can't see myself actually riding it anywhere on the road.
Having 20 acres, it will get more use on my land. Had a ball blasting around the paddocks today, motor is sweet, no smoke or any noises, think I'll leave that alone.
