Has anyone EVER managed to successfully re-licence their vehicle online?
I just got a warrant tonight, after the post office closed, and thought 'no worries, I can do the rego online'. When I tried to do it I suddenly remembered the last two times I have tried. "transaction not available at present, click here to go back to the main menu".
Do they actually do it? Or is it some sort of survey so they can count the number of times people try????
Really keen to ride down to Welly tomorrow and leaving everything to the last minute as usual, don't want a ticket for no rego.

Yeah its good - you can get points on your CC - only good thing about the rego fee.

Yep - it's not often you get a bonus when dealing with the government, especially when you are handing dosh over! I do all the relicenceing for my personal and all our work vehicles online and have never had any issues with it, beats queueing at the post office or AA etc.

Well, quick update.
Went back to the site (armed with a new positive attitude) and this time instead of putting in the 'reminder number', I used my licence details.
And it worked!
Thanks for the encouragement.

works fine for me. a bit of lag posting them out but at least all they can do is write a ticket for not displaying the rego. you could write in about that one if you got caught. some post shops or vtnz stations dish regos out at weekends.

Never had an issue online but as has been said you can get ticketed for not displaying sticker so get comformation sent to your email and then print that off.
It may not stop a idiot coppa ticketing you but at least you can show when the transaction was done as proof.:niceone:

True, it's for not displaying, not 'not having'. Hmmmm.

I did mine on line once and didnt recieve it before I was going to sit my restricted test. So just took the reciept into the post office and they printed me one there. No dramas if you do it online about a week before your rego is due

I use the online system and find it great. Only once the label didnt turn up, but just when into On Road and asked for a reprint of the label, no problems.

I'm having the same problem, still waiting for the stupid card. I rang up on Friday to find out the story and they said there was a printing glitch and that it has now been resent, however I could go to any Post shop or AA and get it printed for free. If I wanted to go there I wouldn't have done it online in the first place. However, I think that is only option now.

Yeah I did the same. You just walk in and give them the rego, no ID required.....

Yes, three times, IIRC.
They say to allow at least a week for the label to be sent out, but it's tunred up within 3 working days each time.

Yep, used it a couple of times now, no probs & got the label in 4 workin days both times. Bugger queing up at the PO/VTNZ etc.
Do not get me feckin started on their 'change your address online' system though  If you do not live in a designated 'Suburb' do not bother trying to use it. Surely they would be aware that many NZers live in rural areas & small towns? Maybe they're jealous of those of us that don't live in suburbia?
At least I got a response from their contact form & they changed my address through that quite happily.
Cheers
Clint
