Hi, I recently passed my full licence, and have purchased a big boy's bike, so its time for my TZR to go to a new home.

Blue with yellow trim, bodywork is not perfect, but is complete. Had some cracks around the top fairing, but I had them plastic welded. Mirrors are mis-matched, one is blue, the other is white. Has only been run on fully synthenic oil, either Sikolene, or Castrol TTS, since I've owned it. Has only had one tank of 91, apart from that either 95 or preferably 98. WOF and reg until December.

I bought it at around 47,000km, and at the time I replaced:

Chain (DID o-ring), both sprockets, both discs, both sets of pads, rear wheel has been changed to a 3.5" wide from a 3ln FZR, new Bridgestone dual compound BT45s, new headstock (taper roller) bearings, new forkseals, new grips, new clutch plates and uprated springs, new airfilter, new thermostat, new fuel filters on both the main and reserve lines, new fueltap "smiley face" oring, new battery, new fork oil, coolant, and gearbox oil, new horn, new uprated halogen headlamp, new brake and clutch levers.

The guy who owned it before me, had ran it without an air-filter, and the motor had sucked in a bunch of small stones, and was missing the front edge of the crown from the right-hand piston, so the motor was replaced at about 48,000kms with a second hand one. I pulled the head and barrels off the replacement motor, and found that it had been recond as it was running 0.5mm oversize pistons, and the bores still had a fair amount of the honemarks left. The only thing I had to do was make new retainers for the powervalve bushes as the original Yamaha ones are complete shit, and let the bushes work their way loose. Has run like a top since then.

Other things done: pipes were removed and had the carbon/oil burnt out of them, the rear suspension, including the swingarm, was removed, inspected, and regreased. Both calipers were removed, disassembled, inspected for torn orings, pistons and bores scrubbed clean, reassembled, and both lines flushed with new fluid. Carbs disassembled and cleaned. Autolube reset to factory settings.

Give me an email address, and I'll send you some pics. Cheers.

Talk about Murphy's Law, bike has just been repo-ed, as some fucking lowlife scumbag used it as security on a $10000 loan, which he has defaulted on. That's the trouble with being a honest guy, you tend to think people are as straight up as you. And what kind of fuckwit lends you $10000 against a 17yr (at the time) old 2stroke?!?

The repo agent was pretty decent, and as he said, the cunts who rip people off are usually not they ones who get their come-up-ance, it's the honest ones who get caught in the shit-fight that follows.

Now, I have to go the small claims court, make a complain, and probably get dripfed at $5.00 a week for 10000 years.

So, get a credit check done when buying a vehicle, I'm learnt my lesson that's for real.

All I can do is sympathise.

I hate it when people have to learn lessons the hard way thanks to human nature.

Cheers man, I'm trying to take it on the chin, by rationalizing my outlay (not including labour!) versus the time I "owned" the bike, which works out to about $60 a week, and comparing that to the depreciation if I had bought a new bike from a dealer but in all honesty, I just want to go and fuck this guy up.

Holy shit, I can't even imagine this. sorry mate.

But hang on for a moment what the FUCK? I've bought bikes without thinking anything like this for a second. I didn't know you could be fucked up the arse out of nowhere like this... And what's more is i've known shitloads of people who just bought bikes like that, hand over the cash and done... change of ownership.. all done.

Does this really mean to say every second hand bike purchase from private seller you need to check up on all this shit?

Please someone elaborate!

Bit of an update.

The credit union said they will consider the fact that I put a lot of cash into fixing the bike up. The collections manager said she can't promise anything as the decision rests with the general manager, but she said to bring the reciepts for the parts in, and they would have a look.

Oh, and the prick didn't use the bike alone as security, he also used a car. The bike was valued at $2000 for collateral purposes, so if he onsold the car, it means someone is going to be even more out of pocket than me. Ouch! Oh, and they don't know where he is. Surprise, surprise.

WOOHOO!! I got my bike back!! :headbang: Turns out the finance company stuffed up the original application papers and legally had no claim to the bike!!

So it's back up for sale, WITH a clear title this time. Price is negotiable, and I also have a rebuild kit (pistons, bearings, conrods, crankwebs, powervalve bushes, gaskets) available if the price is right.

Fucking finance companies. This definitely isn't the first time that I've heard of them fucking up and reposessing shit they have no right to. Anyway - you got some pics of that TZR?

Well, in the end, the collection manager was quite nice to deal with. She and the general manager realized a mistake had been made, and were apologetic for the whole episode. I think the loan department is getting a reaming though!:devil2:

Shoot me a PM with an email address, and I'll forward some pics to you.

Thanks, when I got the email from the finance company, I was happy as a clam! :wari: Thing was though, I'd resigned myself to the fact it was gone, :bye: but my wife was onto it like a rabid pitbull. :2guns:
