Hello,

Just asking around and wondering if there are any suggestions to altering a 2009 250 Ninja? like brake lines, pads, what type of tyre to put on later, aftermarket pipe, anything that might be helpful to maintain it...etc

Thanks

I got a single seat cowl and two bros carbon exhaust on my sisters bike, gonna get the cat cut out of the exhaust next week and we are putting some supercorsas on! The supercorsa i have for the rear is a 160 but i dont think its gonna fit, better tyres will make it handle better

Have you had a look in the "Club 250" Threads on " 250 Ninja mods". Nothing wrong with the tyres they come out with good in the wet and dry. The www250 Kawiforums are where you find all the info.
Cheers mate.

No!... Rear tyre size for 250 Ninja is 130/70x17 std. Another option for a good tyre selection available is the Bridgestone BT- 090. Have used these to race on in wet and dry conditions, exellent. They do, Front's 110/70x17 and a 120/60x17. Rear's 140/70x17 and a 150/60x17.
Cheers.

Yeah the back tyre is a 130, i will still try put it on but the swingarm prob wont allow it, the two bros was expensive but it looks cool the cat restricts the exhaust quite alot shouldnt make it any louder....

New `Ninja' GPX250 is released. Sunshine rolls around. Hundreds of Skyline/Evo/WRX-idolising Hamiltonians and Shore Boys get their motorcycle learners and buy said GPX250. Weeks later, `Ricer modding' threads, `I wanna turbo' and `How big rear tyre can I fit to my Ninja' and `how much is the fine for not wearing my L-plate' threads pop up on KB.

The bike does everything its supposed to straight out of the box but with a few modifications ill be able to waste all those hondas!

Performance mods wise I wouldn't go reinventing the wheel.
Have a looksee what people have done with the GPX250 and ZZR250. As far as I'm aware the engine is the same -probably with some emission stuff in the zorsts and ignitor setup.
Are the 08 bikes we are getting carbed or injected?

I'd be interested to see a ninja 250 fitted with a 99 ZZR 2 into 1 zorst the jetted to suit.
I'd also be intested to look at the cam profiles of the 89 GPX and the ninja. From what i gather the ninja is a tadd milder -

Do keep in mind though that there ar limits to how much performance you can extract from a 250cc four stroke .

Yeah they are never gonna be fast, you can make em look sound and go a tad better though

Nahh mate what i'm thinking is that over the years the engine has lost HP as its had to pass moren more restrictive noise/emission laws.
My thinking is using the old cams and zorst with some rejetting will liberate the "lost" HP.
I was lucky enough to ride the GPX when it first came out. I thought for a 4 stroke 250 it wasn't bad at all

Oh sweet might be worth a shot to sus out the jetting and a cam then cause it will cost f/a, got the exhaust sorted and some other bits and pieces i have left of my races bikes to put on it lol

Ya have to ride it around for a year atleast so you might as well do what ya can to it within reason, just like someone who has a 600 why dont they just get a thou instead of putting pipes and powercommanders etc on them.....

My wife has a zzr250 and ive been riding it while my blackbird has been in bits.
Nothing wrong with the zzr, goes better than i would expect.
more top end than our old VTR250
May be worth doing some kind of airbox mod, looks rather restricted.
first thing id do is up grade the front end, springs and brakes.

What type of costs would i be looking at to say get it re-jetted and K&R air filters put in ??

Also would something like this fit onto my 250 with a bit of work or even just slip on ???
