Hi there,
I bought an old Kawa - GPZ600R over the weekend and it needs a new front tyre.(Manual says 100/90 - 16 but I have a 130/70 -16 at the moment)
What kind of options do I have?
Thanks,
Bert.

I know I will be able to get a Bridgestone BT-45 for it but I am not sure what they will go for... :)

i have a machine with a 16" front wheel believe me i have tried the lot.the best tyre for your machine IMHO is:METZELER 110/90 - 16 M/C 59V TL LASERTEC Front -pressure 2.25 BAR.note the size- that is correct and dont let anyone tell you different.a 100/90 is too skinny and anything wider than a 110/90 will have the thing bump steering like a MOFO.i have one of these on my RG and it runs round the outside of a lot of so called modern sportsbikes.16" fronts work for valentino.....:headbang:

My bike should have 110/90-16,but had a 120/80-16 on it and have kept this profile, had a bridgestone battleax on,but Sport Demon now as well as rear, good price.

Back when they were new, mates and I all ran 120/80 metzler laser ME33's or another good tyre for that size was the Avon's super venon blue dot comp it was a better tyre but lasted 2-3000k.

Thanks Mate...
Murphy kicked my ass again!!! I bought a 100/90 16" on Friday and received my service manual on Monday(Clearly specifying that it uses a 110/90 tyre...)
On the positive side, bike tyres don't last for ever so I will make sure I get the proper one next time...
You ride a 400,right? I had a ZZR400 a while back,was amazed when I saw the power difference between a 400 and a 600..
I have a 89' ZX10 aswell but its to heavy for me... Will try and get the 600 running properly before I sell one of them.
Thanks agina for the info.
Regards,
Bert.
