Competitive bucket?? :baby:

Are you a 2 or 4 stroke man or does it matter?

What makes a competitive bucket anyway, what are you looking for? :2thumbsup

Do you need horse power? How much? Handling? What features would a good handling bike have? :(

Any riding experience? and can you maintain the bike? :oi-grr:

What are you looking to spend?

I have a competitive bucket 4 sale @ $3750. pulls the front wheel up exiting out of every corner.

The thing I have found about bucket racing is that its very expensive to buy your way to a competitive ride and anyway a good rider on a tricycle can beat the best fire breathing, rip-snorting bike if its not ridden expertly.

I recon if you want to get serious about riding competitivly a standard FXR with good rubber would be a great place to start. Reliable and easy to maintain. Plenty fast enough and can easily win races in the right hands.

Good luck, hope to see you out there soon. :Punk:

Geez TZ350 - Don't ask so many questions... just answer them

You're right about the last bit - a well ridden piece of crap is as good as a poorly ridden rocketship.

I think Kennneth Jones has a good Honda CB125twin for sale.

It's been set up well and will need just need some regular maintenance.

PM me and I will give you his cell phone number.

TZ350 is right though. Just because your bike is fast, doesn't not mean you will win races.

It's one thing to be able to go fast in a straight line, but can you go fast round corners? That can be very scary.:shit:

lots of questions. i've ridden some and raced a bit off road. injury has required sale of off road bike.

4 stroke or 2 stroke.

the 125T you refer to is gone (from what i've heard it would have been a cracker)

i'm not fast however do know that a well set up bike is a lot easier to learn to ride fast than a bad one (hence looking for one that someone has done the work on)

re the FXR - you're right. somehow they don't seem bucketish to me although likely i'll end up going that way

can maintain bike

re $3750 - i'm too cheap

Yep your a true bucketeer then. Most of us do all our builds on a budget, but.........

.............to put a price on a bucket is hard. All the hours that go into them and all the bits bought and traded, will usually never be added up. That's about how much TZ350's bike owes him now that it's made and being raced.

In reality no one gets their money back when they need to sell their bike.

I'm getting my money back when I sell mine and I'll be rich. All the custom bits, porting, pipe, CF bits, slicks, emulators, ignition, machining, welding, dyno time etc etc blah blah. $$$$$$$ everywhere plus if I get $10 for every hour working on it . . . . . . . . .

hehe... well I do have a new project Im considering, which will mean selling 1 or 2 of the current bikes the MT being worth more will proberly go 1st i dont wana sell either but aperantly we need a pram or some shit.

The MT is looking a bit scruffy in places as its done 2 seasons non stop, new piston and rings but needs tuning for more tp end, possibly for best results a new barrel and start from scratch with the porting.

Befor it goes up on TM ill let you know.
