The drive over, was uneventfull apart from a GSXR rider that cant ride for shit and was straightlining a corner as I came around towards him, but once on the coast the scenery is awesome ya tend to see things you wouldent when riding the same roads.
At sign in, I bolted through so decided to sort the rest of the crews bikes out with rashika getting the pass on the BMRC bikes.
Motel, walk, pub, tea, bed.
Sunday was up early shoot down to the pits were I had issues with my truck horn sticking on as I passed the vangina club sound asleep, motel, shower, root, shower, brekie and then down to the pits to chill.
Pratice on Rashikas bucket, and I was thinking im gona enjoy the day but I missed a couple of gears for some reason but a quick check back in the pits found no probs.
Pratice on the pre82 350LC, the bike started with a different noise in the right pipe I asumed it was the end cap that was loose.
1st lap went ok time to rark it up a bit last year I got 3rds in the races so i wanted to do the same this year, but as I exited the hair pin the bike droped a pot, slight warning that the bike wasent happy but with the exsesive racket from the blue cb350 i couldnt her the bike and thought it would clear next sec I was locked up sideways, clutch in (always wondered how I would react when a seize happens and I did good) pull over and sit the race out, pics of the rooted engine here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=84928
Bucket races, 1st race I was humming and found the crappy FXR I could get locked up and sideways aloweing mint cornering speeds but the gear box was now missing up changes 50% of the time.
2nd race and after relooking at the gear shifter I thought it must be my doing as I had modified the bike to race patteren so went out with a different style of change. 2nd lap in and i up changed down, the leaver stayed down, a long way down... opps fuked it this time.
so thats my day SFA racing for me, watched aome races and was impresed with the speeds of the buckets packed up, motel, shower, beer prizegiving pub motel sleep.
Monday was up up and away convoy home were I just had to find out what went wrong with the bikes, the LC was easy to work out cos I didnt need to take the crank out in order to remove the piston and rod, or what was left of them the rest fell out the pipe headed.
The FXR, well interesting as TonyB had the same probs, seems FXRs dont like race pattern and no front sprocket cover, the sharft had slid to the right causing the dog and spring to fall off, farking thing.
Soooooooooo... alls well ends well, great weather, mint organisation awesome company and even the digs for the two nights were sweet, till next year.
