I'm keen to test a Suzuki GSX650F but Wellington Motorcycles don't have a demonstrator, and aren't planning on getting one in. (They have a brand new one, but guess they don't want to overstock with 2008 model bikes.)

Just wondering if anyone has spotted a demo unit within a reasonable distance of Wellington.

Also love to have a chat with anyone who has one of these bikes.

Cheers...

Boyd's in Hamilton have got one.
It is at the track in Taupo tomorrow, Boyd's supply it for use as our training "Lines Bike" in Groups 3 and 4.

Hi,

After a 20 year break from biking I bought the GSX650F as my re-entry to biking. I have done 7k kms on it in the 7 months I've owned it. Hard to fault and seems to be pretty well priced for what you get.

cheers

They are a great priced bike,am thinking seriously but a little concerned 2 up could be slightly underpowered.

Mrs H has got a 650 Bandit which, apart from a bit of tweaking to the EMU, is essentially the same bike. I weigh a few pies in excess of 100kg and the lovely Mrs H somewhat less. Two-up on her Bandit troubles it not a jot. I am always amazed at how well it lugs and regularly find myself saying "But it's only a 650, it shouldn't be doing this!"

Mr Suzuki got this bike pretty well right straight out of the box. I shudder to think how well it would go with a couple of thousand spent on suspension and brakes.

Cheers Hitcher, was my thoughts as well re to small(engine),but I like the fit,and with wife on the back, she feels comfy.Only thing to do is ride one.And comparing my '86 GSX 750 with the new 650 the power would be similar after the years etc.

Thanks for the comments Hitcher. Everything I've heard so far indicates that this is probably a bike that will suit me well. Now just need a half decent day so I can get over the hill and try one.
