Hey ladies and gents,

forgive me this stupid question, but, what is required for a "Learners" Motorcycle liscence and what does it entitle me to?

thanks in advance,

Radar

You need to pass a basic handling skills test and then do your scratch and win to grab a learners, simple as that! Then you're allowed (legally) to ride any bike up to 250cc with a max speed of 70kph, no passengers, and no riding between 10pm and 7am(?), not too sure on times.

But yeah... Go for it! Check out riderskills.co.nz, they provide a decent priced lesson + test all in one for your basic handling.

You are required to pass a basic handling skills test and pass a theory test.
All information is here, better than I could ever describe it:

Enjoy.

Ooh that guys smart.

Yeah pretty much all that he said. Just don't go and do 100km/h on the learners. Porkie pulled me over and slapped a $400 ticket on my ass. :gob:

Ride safe, and good luck!

Go to the LTSA website,it has all the details you require. You will need to do and pass a basic handling course and then write your learners test. After that you can ride a bike up to 250cc with certain restrictions.Must have yellow learners plate, not go faster than 70km/h(ignore if rest of traffic is going faster or you will likely become roadkill) , don't ride between 10:00PM and 5:00AM etc.
Good luck getting your learners and ask whenever you need to.Also use the search.
