Hey Dudes and Dudess's,

Great news but stay:calm:

Popped in to the Gartson Pub on the way to Riverton for a charged up naughty weekend ahem:whistle:, anyway, got chatting to the New Landlady of the Pub, and she is really keen to host the Queenstown Rally, which is great as they will deal with the bar,

And the gate sales will go to Breast Cancer and Testicular Cancer Charities.

All I need now is the date to be fixed, so will be doing my darndest to avoid all the other rallies, was thinking perhaps January February time.

Theres the Waikia Rally, and Hoki Rally in January and Vincent in February so perhaps the weeks after that in February could be a goer, anyone know of any other rallies in February.

God am so excited, will start putting fliers on the bikes at the Pissed Penguin to get the interest going and maybe put an ad with some photos in Kiwirider,

The pub said they doint mind how many come, so :woohoo:

OOOOO what with angling (flyfishing) and rallying, the summer takes care of itself.

Was driving a bus around for some extra dosh today, and marvelling and sighing at the mountains which met the snow over the weekend, and now the clouds have gone, they have left the icing covered mountains bare for all to see, it was absoluately breathtaking.

Wow today has been fab, lots of sighing and feeling good about stuff . I love days like this.

Anyway, give us your thoughts about what you think about the venue, and dates etc.,

Was going to call it the Garston Growler until I found out that Kiwi for growler is Pussy, so will just be called the Garston Rally for now.
:doh::killingme

You will like the T-shirts!!!lots of thoughts have gone into those!!:innocent: :devil2:

Coi for now dudes.

So come to Queenstown as the rallies on, will do a new thread with a date when its organised.

Goodnite all

After the Magpie Madness there's bugger-all until Woodstock so early Dec. might be a goer. (I guess SOMEWHERE there will be an office Christmas do that will clash, but hey, that's life.)

December ? After the 3rd KB South Island Rally (5/6th) is a no go, Jan. People are just not interested so close to Xmas. IMHO.

Why not try for 11th or 18th January 2009 about the time the old Glenorchy rally used to be held??

Too tired to think straight last night - but yeah you're right Chris, it would be good to hold it the about the same time as the Glenorchy.

(Use to be second weekend of January or so)

Hey there Dudes and Dudess's

Well this is going to be hard to please everyone.

With regards to the Glenorchy Rally date, Waikia Pub has pinched that date, am trying to get hold of the pub to see if they are doing it agai, with not much luck at the mo, so will be looking at 2nd Weekend in December or the Glenorchy Rally Date.

So Watch this space.

One things for sure though, words got out about this rally and folk I have been talking to are keen to come and party down here, so thats all good.

Coi 4 now, so knackered after the Brass, that I can hardly keep my eyes open, write up on that one comes tommorow.

Hey Dudes and Dudess's

Phew just got back from Waimumu's rally, write it up on that log.

Anyway, have been toying with the idea of doing a rally down this end, and now made a firm decision.

Its going to be at the Garston Pub, I called in to the pub on the way home from Waimum today.

It's a fantastic setting and the publicans (Claudia and Mike) are fully behind it, we have discussed this before and Claudia has got hold of the Garston town dwellers are backing it, and they are looking forward to lots of bikers coming down and have a blast.

The activities will be the normal stuff I guess, but thought we would throw in and Egg and Spoon Race, Wheelbarrow races, and Musical Chairs, for a laugh, when everyone is leathered.

So I'm going to be busy getting sponsership for this from now on inwards.

Tell everyone you know, as ths is going to be a corker of a rally, when a whole community get's behind it, its always a winner.

Will put flyers on bikes at the Magpie Madness, and do an announcement in the evening.

So folks it's all go, clear your diairies, and head on over to Wakatipo. February's a groovy month now eh, Vincent County 1st week, then March Hare start of March.

Wil hope to get a few of you for volunteers for the gate at hourly intervals, many hands make light work eh.

Going to think of a charity and stick some money towards them.

The name for the Rally has yet to be conjured up, but will get t-shirts done, and badge's etc.,

So venture down to the wonderful area of Queenstown/Garston, the ride back from Wiamumu was stunning today.

Have booked a heatwave too:sunny:

We'll organise a mid morning ride for a couple of hours, IDB can take care of that one.........Woooo guess I better ask him first:doobey:

Be groovy to get some North Islanders down for this one, going to run an article in next months Kiwi Rider Magazine, to generate some interest too.

There are rooms at the Pub for those of you who want a bit of privacy, so if your'e keen make a booking early.

So whose up for coming along to the Virgin Garston Rally?

Its going to be good, and look out for the pre-paid entry form which will be on here soon

Coi for now,

Hugs to ya,

Woodybee:msn-wink:

This ones the first one, had to go to Invers for a few days, and dished out some posters along the way back took some photographs and going to hope to get an article in a couple of bike magazines, to capture the imagination of bikers thoughts for attendance at a new rally.

So keep your fingers crossed and if you make it to the Garstonian, in the words of Speights good on yer mate.

Hey Dudes and Dudess's

got rid of another few hundy posters at Burt, who a fantastic time that was, shame I couldn't jump around as per normal, so did a slow pace rally and didn't drink to excess, and can you believe it I was up at 730am yesterday.......

I couldn't manage to get on the stage at the Burt, but had a word in the shell like of the ultra groovy mayor of Invers, and he plugged it what a top bloke he is, a wonderful and fun ambassador for Invercargill.

Got a couple of groovy contacts for things, so its shaping up nicely.

Keep those prepaids coming in Dudes, as it saves you $5 and guarantees you a badge.

got a wicked band called the G.C's playing Saturday night, and was talking to first band and they asked if they could play at the Garstonian, and they were wickedly rockin, thought they were superb, so woohoo.

Keep on rocking Dudes:niceone:

woodybee

Hey Dudes and Dudess's

Woo its been a hectic old time down here in Queenstown with making lists, and making wishes for Garston to be a Huge Success and its coming together wonderfully.

Got a jump off Hackett, a Jet Boat Ride from Shotover and dozens of other adventures companies to hit,,,,woohoo.

Today however, was fantastic. I spoke to the dude from the Rock FM down here In Cute Queenstown and they have agreed to jump on board and mention it in their Advertising, and they are going to come to the rally to bring a tent and throw prizes around...........:2thumbsup.

My good mate who runs Bike Stuff in Invers, got hold of the chick that down the Rock down in that area, and they are on board for advertising too. Premo eh!!

There's a band on Friday night as well as Saturday night now, for those of you who went to Burt Munro, its the yougn Rock Group called John Moon who are appearing at the pub on Friday, they tracked me down at the rally and asked if they could play at the Garston Rally.....God yeah was my retort.

Both bands are astonishing in their gestures to play for free and donate their time, so big hugs to them:hug:

Rightyo oh, c u dudes at the Staging Post in Danseys, if I can tear myself from this computer, its full on this Rally Organsing Business, but fuck what a lot of Fun.

Cio 4 now, Love Light and Prosperity to you all (thats what a good mate of mine always used to say to me) sweet eh

Yours Woodybee

PS>Wants as many dudes and dudess;s to this Rally, as its virginal, can't promise any virgins,:killing me: but a heck of a lot fun and laughs

On Saturday Queenstown Top Cover Band The Gee Cee's are playing they are mad, funny and entertaining......

Check out page 21 on BikeRider Magazine, the Rally's in there, and its in this weeks Mountain Scene.

Stopped for a soft drink at Famous Kellys (BP roundabout...Frankton) on New years day, and a couple of harleys rocked up, so went chasing them to tell them about the rally, and he said its up in a pub in Riverton (haven't been there) and they had a drink in Fairlie the other day and the publican chucked a poster at them, so its getting around..........:mega:

Thousands of things to do now, so arse up:moon: head down now to make this a huge success.

Dispite your best attempts to get me to come to the Garstonian Rally and dispite the fact that I'd love to be there, Kay [Amazon] & I will be on our South Island road trip. However, the least we could do is to take some flyers around the Island with us and spread the news.....I'll print off as many as I can stuff into my saddle bags and carry on your wonderful marketing campaign.

As a few of you will have heard, Iron Maiden have decided to piss on my parade and hold their small gig, the same time as my big gig is on:laugh:

I did try to get on the Rock and have a chit chat with our Bruce Dickinson, to get him to rearrange or come to play at the rally but I couldn't get through.

I have had a few dear friends of mine, text me, and phone me to say they have tickets to the little gig and can't come to mine.

Guys, all the profits from this rally are going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and I am doing a whip round in a bucket for funds for the Garston Church as well, seeing as though the Registration post is adjacent to the quaint church.

If anyone feels the need then donations for the rally charity can be made, no matter how small, or dare I say make it a big into the bank account inthe pre-paid bank account which features on the entry form.

So Solly Amazon, etc., Andy from Dunedin, Barry from Pleasant Point and others, stick your hand in your pockets Dudes and Dudess's and turn the grief in not being able to make the Garston into a huge smile on my face by donating and making yourselves feel better.

In the words of Hot Chocolate, "Everyone's a winner baby"

Here endeth the prayer.

Let the fun commence.:wari::drinkup::doobey::woohoo::Punk:

Hey Dudes and Dudess's

For those of you on my hotmail contact list, some wanker has hijacked my account, I can no longer access my account and have lost all of my contacts I have built up for the last 20+ years.

Whats worse is that who ever has hacked it has sent "I'm Hurt, and I need money" emails to all of my contact list.......fuck I am mad if ever I had th power to meet who has done, this I think I could possible rip every limb from his body off, (and thats just for starters!!:2guns:

Anyway, if you get an email from me, along those lines, delete it.

Whats worse is that I have been emailing the west Coast Tourers and Diligaf to discuss the Garston Rally, so they will now be thinking whats going on

SO DUDES THE GARSTONIAN RALLY IS 1 WEEK AWAY, I AM NOT I NIGERIA HAVING BEEN MUGGED, BLOWN UP OR WHATEVER"

See you all there

Hey woodybee, any chance of a price list for the bar and food so we can work out how much $ to bring.

ThanksBlinking eck, I haven't organised the bar, I have had enough to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, all I can say, is that the bar prices will be the bar prices in the bar...on the Friday, and on the Saturday, I have told the publican that beer prices can make or break a rally, so he gets my gist, if you catch my meaning, but I have no hold over what they are going to charge I only hope he heeds my advise, so can't help you mate sorry. Bring enough dosh to buy shitloads of raffle tickets though, as there are some corker prizes

I know rallys always say, no byo but do what you have to do, I am not running the bar, or making money off it, put it that way............

Went out with the QT Crown Rangers today and had a wicked ride over to Wanaka for a hot chocolate cake and frothy coffee and a bbq round a mates this arvo, evening, bliss, what a cracking weekend its been, very sociable.

Hope you dudes enjoyed your too

Just been looking at metservice weather maps.

Looks like a bit of wind in the low heading towards us. Would be nice if that wind blew it through more quickly than the metservice guys have predicted.

Looked at another site which shows full disk in infrared and there seems to be a clear patch/area of low, shallow cloud sitting over Tasmania and the east coast of Aus. Possible fine/improved weather....

Click here (http://163.251.101.53/cgi-bin/main.pl?aust) if you want to have a look at different satellite images...

For those that don't know:

the whiter the cloud appears in the image, the higher the top of the cloud is => higher likelyhood of rain

if it's dark, dark grey => very little/no cloud => no rain....

watching the loops is pretty cool..

What ride to Glenorchy? If it's a proper bike rally no-one will be sober enough to walk the length of themself on Saturday let alone ride

Have searched this thread for the location - can't find it. One post says Waikaia but the title says Garston. I don't want to get pissed on just to find an empty field at either location. If I can get firm confirmation of the EXACT location (none of the usual vague she'll be right directions I usually get!) I will try to get there after familial chores tomorrow.

Otherwise I'l just wait until next year.

GARSTON is the place, not too far south of Kingston (about 20kms) which is at the bottom end of Lake Wakatipu (Queenstown) on the main road, few houses, 2 churches and a pub!!:scooter:

Well, I arrived home about 1:30. Left Garston in fine weather, but, as the rain threatened, I stopped at Athol to put my rainsuit on. Glad I did as it got colder as the trip progressed. Finally ran into rain atabout Wyndham and it just got heavier all the way home where it's a cold wet easterly.Fortunately, the only thing that got wet was my tent, (after one of the few times I've packed it dry!)

Great wee rally, especially enjoyed the 'special' act. A great effort by Jan and her team. Already looking forward next year!

Hi Dudes, before I go on, thank you so much to the guys who stayed behind and helped me and my dudes, pack away, woke up today with the thought that there was all that to do, but lots of folk stayed and took stuff down, so a big thanks to you, my head is stuffed now, so will be in bed before 7pm, so can't even begin to think who to thank, but a heartfelt thank you to those who helped.

IDB big thank you to you for sorting out the lights, cotton reals and oildrums, was so good to have the oil drums burning away, as it got cold, I thought this was summer!!!???

What can I say, f...king weather.............that will have kept shitloads at home, but was amazed at how the site came together, there were 3 of us who put up the marquee, then another mate turned up towards the end, but what a nightmare. Alan and Glen, Murry, Neville and Debs, you guys are truly amazing people, and it was nice to be given the advise to delegate, that came really easily....after having ownership of this organising since late November, it was good to see it all come together.

God I was so nervous, its was untrue, and am now feeling flat as a pancake that its all over:mellow:

99% of feedback I had was fantastic, seems everybody loved the site, which was great. I put heart and soul into getting this off the ground, and can honestly say, I couldn't have put more effort into it, so I'm happy with the way it went. Especially Friday night, man that was wild, what a laugh:banana:

Inga my singer mate, and Anna the Pole dancer were fantastic.....for the dudess's, it was so funny to turn and look at the guys expressions behind me, when Anna was doing her thing, they were totally gobsmacked, nothing lewd was shouted out, I think they were stood rooted to the spot in totally shock, god I was laughing my head off, :killingme, she was phenominal

Now for the admin clearup, I know I broke even, but didn't make as much as I would have liked, but we shall see when the big count begins.

Next year, will get a team together early on, no wonder there are committees for these rallies, am so totally knackered now..............

Again I cant thank the helpers enough, wow wow wow.

Hope you guys enjoyed it..............am gutted in a way thats it over, and loved hanging out with you dudes.

Roll on the March Hare eh...........

Woodybee, totally dead on my feet now.......soooooooooooooo glad I have tommorow off!!

Left home in light rain on Friday morning, and headed south with Mr S, GB, the Bent one, and his brother – the weather varied from light rain to heavy shit with some dry bits along the way. It’s amazing how you can feel the heavy stuff stabbing you through 4 layers, and one of them was leather! The Lindis was dry, which was cool, and the wet stuff had pretty much stopped by Tekapo. I had a blast in the dry from Frankton to Garston. Built the house in the dry and then headed over to the pub to get wet on the inside. What a great night that was! Some memories from the night – a great Lamb Madras for tea, a great band, great fun catching up and dancing, GB pacing himself! Man what a pace he set too, I couldn’t keep up! And dead ants on the road.

Saturday, I woke to the light patter of rain on the tent – I wonder what he time is? Fuck me it’s 1208, hmmm I might get up and make lunch. I just lazed about for the rest of the day and had a cruisy time. Saturday night was great with the games and the “special” act, I was very impressed the abilities displayed. Highlights would have to be the singer that was on in the late afternoon/evening – what a great voice, and of course the special act. Well done too to the KB’ers – GB best european bike, 1st in the slow race, and got a bag of AJ Hackett stuff tossed into the crowd, SD won the wet jock, and a dirty weekend for 2 in Queenstown, and good on ya Kemet for giving the Wet T a go. Oh, and there was NO rain! It was a nice starry night!

Sunday, I woke to a nice dry tent and some high overcast. Breakfast was made, the camp was stuck, final good byes and away we go. The same 5 of us headed back to Frankton for fuel, then over the Crown range to Wanaka. The other 4 continued on to Fox Glacier while I made my own way home back up the centre. The weather was a mixture of dry and light rain till Fairlie, then it PISSED down to Geraldine, then dry and warm the rest of the way. I didn’t trust the weather through Rakaia gorge so left the wets on until Glentunnel. Home at 5.20. Highlights for today – the Crown Range, finally getting out of the one piece wet weathers at Glentunnel, and a cold beer when I got home.

598km there and 620km home.

Pics later when I’ve sorted through them.

And finally and most importantly – WELL DONE JAN! A bloody good effort and a great result! Yes, you had help from a lot of the locals, but you were the driving force behind this, you had the idea and you made it happen. Thanks for a great rally and on behalf of males everywhere thanks for supporting prostate cancer the way you have.

Hey Woodybee, you may be in bed by now, scummy and I had a power nap after riding in THE strongest headwind and then shitty easterly rain at Pukerau to home.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend and the ride to Glenorchy was interesting - considering the wet on the way up and dry ride back to site.
Thanks for organising the treats at the Arms. Booy those are some weird drivers and pedestrians in Qtown!!
The entertainment was top class and the fine company was exquisite!! Made all better with the friendly dudes and dudesses who helped.
Back to the fantasy world now and off to work tomorrow.

Doh! It was her brothers wedding in Brissy!!

Great rally despite the crappy weather at times - those wooses that soft-cocked out of going missed a great fun-filled week-end - one the Woodybee worked her guts out for and did really well doing it!

Only sour note was the standard of riding on the trip to and from Glenorchy - crossing yellow lines while overtaking (while approaching blind crest), passing into oncoming traffic, passing into and AROUND blind corners, passing on the inside, following too close and in-line - you name it, they did it!!

It was the worst EVER I have seen on an 'organised' ride...

Utter fuck-wits and some were plenty old enough to know better, the type of bike ridden by said f-wits varied lots - Buell, Moto Guzzi, BMW, Yamaha etc and one or two had pillions. (If I had been their pillion a shit-load of helmet smacking would have happened).

And I wasn't the only person to notice this and comment on it.

Garston - A little bit posh.

Xaria and I had both decided to go to this rally as soon as we heard Jan was actually finally going to do it. As soon as we found out the dates we organised time off work and both took the Friday off... With the bikes packed and the forecast for an h2o fall we were on our way by 10:15. It was over cast, but no wind, and no rain.

We stopped in at the scumdogs for five to ten, making sure they were coming. Chrissie was still at work but they were definitely going. This this knowledge now secured we were on our way south to Lumsden where the h2o had started to fall from the sky. Putting more go go juice in to the gogo machine I decided to put the oilskin vest on but not the bit that covers the arms. The h20 stuff got heavier and by the time we got to Athol (about 5 minutes from Garston) I regretted my decision. How ever no problem its only water.

Got to the site built a house and made a bed and the said drink o-clock time. Cracking the first we wandered over to the pub... there I stayed till dinner o-clock time where we Debbs have put on a feast for the helpers (yes I know I haven't helped yet... well other than design the badge) though I was more than willing to help and ended up doing a couple of hours at the gate, and help drop and fold the marques.

Back to the pub where the band were playing the drinks were being refilled regularly and things became hazey. So I needed some fresh air and a power nap. Then we were back into it. Before I knew it it was time to get up and have my more morning coffee.

I slept in till around 10, Xaria went into Frankton to get some supplies for the workers and was back just in time for our shift at the gate. About 20 bikes for day ride to Glenorchy left about about 11ish after singing happy birthday to the Mayor.

The gate time was hard work stopping all the riff-raff and selling them raffle tickets but I had a plan... you weren't allowed off the site till you had bought a ticket, and all change given was swindled into buying raffles. We did sell quite a few this way as the prizes were really good.

During our time on the gate I heard Jan say they had broken even so any thing extra was a bonus. End of my shift and I had to go a crack my first for the day... and have a wander about, drink a few more and then eat some dinner. During the day there were a few showers but they past and the skys were clear. There were reports of a UFO in the sky a bright yellow orange globe in the sky that was releasing a heat ray. I had to go and find my dark glasses

Now Jan has gone to a lot of work big marquees, bands, food, bar, drum fires, the evening events, prizes, and a special act.

The lady that was signing early afternoon man she could actually sing and stay in tune... the band was PDG. Before I knew it was dark and supper time with a special treat of crayfish... (unfortunately we couldn't find everyone...) On into the night white the usual activities ;) prize giving, Wet T, Wet jock and drinking... acting like silly buggers, telling the tall tale and drinking.

I did not need to enter the wet jock contest because I did not want to up stage anyone with my pure awesomeness so was decided I best not.

Off to the land of nod around two and had a pretty good sleep. Expecting the harleys to warm there bikes up around 6am, but alas everyone was still chopping down the trees with the chain saws... this surprised me as when I arose later the trees were still standing?

Anyway helping to drop and fold the marquees we started to pack our own gear and the h2o from above started just enough to be annoying while packing, but stopped as we were about to leave . I have no idea what time we left but stopped in Athol for fishing supplies and then Lumsden for go go juice... and upon leaving Lumsden the sky started to leak again just up the road, and didn't really stop till... oh wait it is still leaking now... the wind also started to play a part as well... but wasn't to bad just the odd spot to watch out for

To all you soft cocks that didn't go just because of a little water... well you missed a great rally, we all had a bloody great time and I hope it happens again next year. Jan did a bloody awesome job a organising it all (with no committee) and it was for a good cause... oh wait prostate cancer but I guess for you soft cocks its a bit late...

Many thanks Jan for this rally, I was glad to have helped with the setting up, gate duty, and cleaning up during Saturday night, and so so sorry I couldn't stay for the pull down of the site.
Yes Debs was great with keeping us gate people etc feed and lots of coffee and the use of her car when needed.
The Friday set up was a pain with only myself, Al and Jan putting up the 9x13 marque with the wind but we got there in the end. lol.
Many thanks to Nev and Murry for there help with the sun shades etc on the wet Saturday morning. Nev winning the best European and best overal bike comp.
Thanks Hayd3n for your help with my wee accident on Saturday, I worked out I took 10mm of dirty out of the ground with my headlight and the bruise on my right knee is a beauty. lmao. Sh*t happens, and I wasn't even drunk

Scumdog did show "US" real men up once we managed to get a couple of extra guys to enter. Think old nighthawk is worried he wasn't man enough for it really.
And Semi glad no one else entered the helmet race as I was too dam cold from the wet jock to continue.

Shame I missed out on the Friday night at the pub, guess someone had to work the gate and I did say I didn't mind, but now after reading what some of you got up to, I wish I went now. :apint: :( :crybaby:

Thanks for an awesome weekend Woodybee. Well done to you for great organisation and entertainment. Bill had a great time and is planning how to get rid of our kids for the next one!
I agree with NJ on the Queenstown streets, yuk, especially so in the wet. Nice ride out to Glenorchy and lovely meal, and the open fire was a real bonus.
We had good dry ride home and made it home reasonably dry with a wee bit of wind but nothing to worry about. Been in worse! Had hot shower, cup of tea, vaguely talked to sister (who looked after my kids), put tea on, fell asleep! Luckily with three kids around it's hard to sleep for long and I woke up in time to save tea, cook veges, feed the troups, sent them to bed and crashed for the night. Couldn't believe how quickly morning came!
Looking forward to next rally, maybe Roxburgh, definitely Middlemarch. See you all then.

Rolled on back through the gates of home around 4.30pm, somewhat wet from the ride to find there was no water at home. Tank pipe had burts during the day, duh!
Have not really looked through the pictures to hard yet. Must say even with all the rain over the trip, which was forcast... to still go and do this thing was fun, worth it, bloody good fun..:sweatdrop The rain on the west coast has to be the hardest, wetest rain I have ever encountered on a bike. It sure wont be forgotton.

The weekend was great, Friday night at the pub, a bit of a laugh, the drink made things kinda crazy, crazy fun.
Wicked sleep on Sat morn' awoke and went to walk, realised the freakin right leg was big hurties.
Contemplated going on the Glenorchy run, but stayed back, had a couple of ales at the pub, and chilled, it was when all the rest returned that realised it was not that bad out there weather wise. Though my kneee could have been troublesome.

The games were fun to watch, and participate. The slow race a bit of a laugh, the cool thing was crossing the line last... yeee haaa, good fun.

Won "Best Euro", very cool.
The entertainment for the entire night was great.

Waking Sunday, the knee was a little better, and tootled off up Country to Wanaka, a real nice ride up over the Crown.
Once we made it to Makarora, we knew there was plenty of rain in the air. I am certain the Southern "Air" and Westcoast "Air" has alcohol content, cause it just makes for some crazy stuff.

The ride though Haast..... wow.... wet.

Fox for the night at my inlaws place. And a night on the town of Fox. Gotta admit my abbs and cheeks got a good work out with way to much laughing.

Monday, wadda ya know, the rain still pelting... The sun poked through for the odd syke moment. Breaky in Franz, Fuel at Hoki, pie at Jacksons, All wet stops... a wet pee stop at Springfield.

Cust and the blue sky could be seen over the sea. and the rain all but stopped.

Home to the smilling faces of the kids.

Put me little trophy up in front of the telly. Had some dinner, and chilled out till now.

Better look at those pics and see what is good, and fair to show.

Cheers Jan!!!!! GREAT WORK

The bar, was a little steep in pricing, but as Jan said---out of her hands. Hope they learned by the experience.
The food tent had soem nice grub, and later in the night being told to chuck what ya can in the bread made it value for money.

Hope there is a 'onian next year!!!!!!

What a weekend! Rain, rain, and more rain.

Met up with Ghostie, Far Q, Bent51 and bro on on a wet Friday morning out at Darfield and was fairly persistent rain until Tekapo. The run through Lindis was dry (yeehaa) and the Devils Staircase.

Friday was a good one at the pub, not impressed with the pricing. Still someone thinks its a race then all sense goes out the door...

Saturday was a fairly quiet day, due in part to the previous nights festivities. Down to the pub at lunchtime where the publican made a dick of himself (the first of many), some people shouldn't be in the hospitality industry. Had a couple of Stellas before wondering back to the site only find the beer tent still not open. WTF? It was another couple of hours before it finally opened. Funnily enough when it did open GB and walked in, looked at the prices and walked straight back out again. The tug of war was a laugh, KB well represented in the slow race. The pole dancer was great. A good start to the night.

Sunday was a ride to Fox Glacier via the Crown Range which was dry until about Cardrona (the last time we were to see a dry road until almost back at Chch). Wanaka saw Far Q go his own way back to Chch while the four of us had a very wet ride though to Haast which only got wetter on the coast!

There must of been something in the wet air at Fox as GB was in fine form. To sad to repeat his goings on here!

It bucketed down overnight and all four bikes started up in the morning no woories despite being left outside, even the Triumph! The ride to Jacksons involved varying levels of rain made worthwhile with a venison pie and sadly all of us choosing a ginger beer! Farewells were made at Springfield and that was the weekend.

Overall, I had a blast. Despite riding 99.9% of the time in the rain it was a great ride and rally.

Woodybee - well done on the rally! Excellent effort, with some nice touches too!

Wasn;t it a weekend for ripping shirts off, mine came off and I can remember it whipping it around my head like a lassoo on the Friday night, and then coz no girls were up doing the wet t.shirt on Saturday, I have a vague recollection of getting down to my bra, and goading the girls to come up and do their thing, and have to embarrassingly say I whipped up my bra just for a sec.....but like I say, pert and handful size is in:bleh::niceone:........

A great rally with nice touches for added fun. The tug-of-war was enjoyed by all, especially the ladies whom we let pull away......:doctor:

I'm a keen supporter of the performing arts and thus was entranced by the stage act of the young lady and her equipment. Such athleticism, skill, and panache isn't normally seen at rallies. Interesting to note the group of keen chaps hard up against the stage, observing with intense scrutiny her gravity-defying performance. And all she used for support was her skin.......marvellous.

But seriously team: I have to congratulate Jan for her single-handed organisation of this rally. Advertising, sponsorship, prizes, marquees, finding a site, generators, entertainment.......setting everything up and then taking it down. It was a huge job and only someone with Jan's energy and enthusiasm could manage to make it work.

The Garstonian was worth it. Respect. :first:

Where ever the next rally will be it will be an ion, as thats they way its got to be from now on, who knows, Glenorchion, Queenstonion, the list is endless. I know the venue was fab, but geting all the gear of what somewhat of a mare, and there are a few other reasons for a move to nearer grounds, but god knows what the next year is going to hold for any of us in the ever changing life we lead eh

Cheers all, woohoo for the weekend:clap:enjoy yours, I will, got 2 do's a ride out with the queenstown Crown Rangers, and fitting in extra work too, so its full on, be good to get back to work for a rest infact:rolleyes::niceone:

Well a little slow at getting a write up done, but been busy since we got back.
Well what a great weekend. I enjoyed the ride there and back plus a great rally in between. Woodybee did a great job of organising this, so top marks to her.

I set off from home at 7:30 with my brother in tow to met up with FQ Mr S and GB in Darfield. With the rain pelting down this was going to be a good way to see how long I can keep the water out for.

We all left Darfield around 9:00 and headed off down the middle to Geraldine where our first stop for the day was going to be. So far the water has stayed out, but for how much longer I didn’t know. We had a feed and chit chat and put all our gear back on for the ride to Fairly where we all got fuel. By this time the water was starting to seep in. Once we were all fuelled up we headed off to Omarama where it was just a wee stop for Mr S and off again. By the time we got to Tekapo the rain was starting to stop yee haa and it wasn’t too bad from there with only the odd shower from time to time.
It was a good run through to Cromwell which was to be our last stop before we get to Garston. Some more fuel for the bikes and even some for ourselves which went down very well. Off again this time to Frankton then on to Garston which I think it was around 430-500 when we arrived.

Once through the gate we put the tent up and off to the pub where a good time was had by all. That little pub was rocking and packed out. The young band that was playing was fantastic and should have a good future. The place got so packed with people dancing that the pool table had to be moved and people were spilling outside. A great night where everyone was just having a good laugh. I went back to the tent about 1am and man trying to find that tent in the dark, I new I should have taken a touch.

The next day I went to Glenorchy with the group ride as I’ve never been there it was great and what a nice piece of road. Saturday night was another great night with all of what Woodybee had organised. The pole dancer was great to watch and a little different from what you usually get or what I’ve seen at rallys. The whole night was great and you’ve got to take your hat off to Jan because she knows how to get people going for sure and I’m glad that I went down.

On the Sunday we packed up and the same five of us left and went over the Crown Range to Wanaka where we said good bye to FQ. The rest of us went on to the Haast Pass with rain from not long after leaving Wanaka, and I mean lots of rain.
Went on to Fox where we were staying thanks to GB and another good night had with GB being his good old humorous self.

Next day it was still raining and it was off for home and fairly well rained all the way. All in all a great trip and I would do it again with no hesitation with some great people to ride with and to have a laugh with.:done:
