Blew my fork seals at Patatonga yesterday, dont want to take them into just any old bike shop... so any recommendations for suspension gurus in the auckland area? I dont want an expensive race spec upgrade, just serviced to OEM spec by someone who knows what they are doing.

Cheers

Greg aka "Danger'' is the man for you.

If its for your 08 250 he has already data loged all the info from my bike.

And i couldn't get over how cheap it was, to what i thought the price was going to be, and this was "full mack daddy service" strip down everything and measure and clean every little shim and washer ( I watched the whole process).
Replace with top grade oils and seals.
I was a very happy camper.
Ill be heading back his way in about another 20 hours of saddle time to get another freshen up.

Atomic my PM's are disabled as I come to this site for fun and to get away from work. I try to keep my time here seperated from work issues.

But if you want your bike fixed pronto call me on 09 832 0153 9-5.30 Mon-Fri.
I currently have a bike here for today and a couple of bikes coming in later this week when parts arrive but if you can get it to me today or early tomorrow (before someone else gets in, my phone tends to ring Mon-Tues with people that have had problems develop over the weekend) you should get it back for your Wed ride at Ardmore.

And BuddyL is right. I try to resist doing just the seals. I like to do a full service, replacing any worn shims, dishing shims and facing pistons, polishing tubes and rods, everything comes apart and is inspected and put right. And cleanliness is vital. Might not be as cheap as just bunging in a new set of seals, but worthwhile and gives me job satisfaction and you suspension that you can rely on for the next 30-50 hours. Thats the way I was trained to do it.

My mate gave me a card for JTR in west auckland and I was about to give him a call BUT after reading this thread it sounds like Danger is undoubtedly the king.

Will give ya a call today.

I would recommend JTR, have known John a long time and he is a good mechanic. Would also recommend Spectrum Motorcycles if you want the seals and oil replaced, or Norm at Suspension Tech if you want the hell mods done.
