The old joke was that the only reason Harley riders don't wave at you is they're too scared too take their hands off the the bars.....even a helmet nod is rare well, have to say I'm impressed . Got a few nod's and hand's up today coming back from Hanmer , Excellent and responded accordingly ....
Or is it the Bike they're waving at ?
K6 Hayabusa - Black and K8 Hayabusa -Black with Yoshi's ....Be nice to know

I don't care what the bike is, I wave or nod. It's wicked to see other riders out there enjoying the weather! If I don't get a wave back or a nod, no harm done. I had a handful of Harley riders wave today, I warned them of cops I saw too.

I Guess the look of a Busa's frontal parts approaching you must scare you Cruisers into submission and the wave is an acknowledgment of the aforementioned ? Hmmm

Hmmm Or possibly the site of such a whale coming toward one means the wave was more "keep that lard arse thing in your own lane please",ive often mistaken approaching Busas for TLRs but nope there even uglier.:shifty:

Yes I notice that only 1% of Harley riders wave back, and i think that is only when I maybe have mistaken the Harley for a Japper Cruiser!!
Anyway I think I may just buy a Harley one day just to go around waving to real bikers. Brake the mould so to speak, and laugh try and break the reality.
I passed a bunch of Harley's the other day going the other way, about 40 of them none waved except for 1 biker in the middle of the pack gave me a wave, well done I thought, had laugh to myself.
It really comes down to the tough guy image thing, gangs and all that you ride a Harley your too cool to wave at any body that rides anything else but a Harley, its sad but I dont let it worry me at all, its all their problem not mine. It shouldnt worry you either, I wave still wave at Harley riders, I think God does love them too. Someone has to.

Ha ha ha. I find it very amusing, because no bastard waves at me on my road legal dirt bike (even sports bike riders, and I've owned a few of those). I must be lower than pond scum. Funny thing is................I couldn't give a f*ck.

I got waved at by a whole group of Harleys a few weeks back...I was riding the desert road heading South and it was f$%^#%**&%$#ing cold and wet, and about 20 Harley/cruiser riders came past me heading North, and saw me ploughing through the weather on my yellow 250cc Hyosung....
I'm thinking their waves were either out of pity or them saying "hey, there's someone else crazy enough to be out riding on a day like this!"

How the fuck did you manage to warn them that the constabulary was in close proximity whilst on a motorcycle passing in the opposite direction??

Let me see, hmmm well if you are a Patched Gang member and you are riding around on your Harley with or without your mates do you really think they give a shit about waving to others? Esp Jap Sport Bike riders who are riding around in their expensive racing leathers even though they probably have only ever done a track day, and are on their way to a cafe for a Latte and a gourmet burger? I think you will find they think you are all gay and soft.
(I dont think you are all gay though) :dodge:
Other wise my man has a Harley, we wave only cause we want the world to see that we WILL not be sterotyped, or labelled so bloody wave back you. :sunny:

I should actually edit that: Not all Patched Harley riders are in GANGS but in Clubs, but are now classed as Gangs.
