Dragonball Z is fun and im in the middle of collecting the whole series from dragon ball (the begingin) to dragonball GT (the end) on dvd but if you really want to see something twisted you should check out Ghost in the Shell or maybe Wolfs Rain (WR isnt twisted but its a good one, or Naruto (though it hasnt been released in english yet) if you want to stay with the fighting stuff like DBZ. theres many more out there. now back to looking for that site!!!

Yep seen Akira and I used to watch every single episode of DBZ, when I went to school and had time for it. These I don't have much time for anything so I don't watch em no more but I guess I'd still enjoy watching good Manga vids every now and then. My all time fav is Robotec or known as Macross to Americans.

Whoa too cool :) The 'power bike' was the bad boy of motorcycles on Akira :) with "twin ceramic rotor drives on each wheel. Computer controlled anti lock brakes...200HP at 12,000rpm" ..or something like that. Akira was a breakthrough Anime for sure.

Akira is one of my favourites. I always think of the bike scenes from it when following other bikes at night - seeing the red tail lights. I've seen that site before, it was quite interesting seeing a real life version of Kaneda's bike.

yea, akira definatly owns hard
favorite anime series is probably visions of escaflowne or berserk :devil2:
but there is such a wide selection of really good anime
Waylander
4th February 2005, 16:58
I have both escaflone and berserk. Want to try making a motorbike helmet that looks like Guts's one day (just for show ofcourse) Also have the patlabor movies and soultaker and a few others, would have to go look to get a full list, but i think it would be fun to try to build some of the bikes these peaple dream up in there anime and manga books.

Still havnt found the full story with all the details about it yet. I might just have to go and buy the mag I saw it in a few months ago and scan the pages or something. I'll keep looking for those that are interested and will keep adding to this thread. But anyway I still think it would be a cool bike even if it would only be for short cruises around town to show it off and such. Not sure how comfortable and all that it would be for long rides, guess I'll have to build it and see.

'Nother set of tricked out stretched bikes, these built by Amen Motorcycles. The first one there has like a 380mm rear tire or something like that. Bloody big if you ask me but whats cool about it is that there are no spokes to speak of.

Akira is pretty old you know. Maybe back in the day 200hp was considered powerful  (well it still is by street standards.) That's 200hp at each electric driven wheel btw

Currently watching the Return of Cooler on my PC right now while im writing this.
Have to say it has to be the best DBZ movie ever (and yes I include the ones that havnt been releasd in english yet. It's good to have an uncle in Tokyo...)

Akira is one of my favourites, GITS too. I have seen the DVD twice but the manga is way better, more action on the bikes, and more of them.
I have watched heaps fan subs and have Dragonball Z comics in Japanese and I'm reading Naruto at the moment. It's all good study...the problem is that when I speak Japanese I sound like an Anime Character.
Have you seen Onepiece or FMA(Full Metal Alchemist, Haganenolenkinjitsushi)?

The "Akira" bike was a BMW .... ? What's with that!
I loved ghost in the shell, although it took me a few times to watch it, to understand it....loved and bought the soundtrack.
I'm quite partial to "macross plus" (own the videos) and "The last vampire princess". Although "Ramna 1/2" was an old favourite, as was the "Thundercats".
I tell ya, unless you watch the entire animated series of "Aeon Flux", it doesn't make any sense.
You know, I can't wait for it to come out on the movies either. I'm not sure on Charlize Theron as the lead tho........

As long as its not as bad as the live action Dragonball movie is supposed to be it doesnt really matter to me.

I watch the older anime cause the storylines were better back then and I do watch some new ones just not tht many. Most of the ones Japan puts out these days are a little childish and not all that great. (Or atleast the ones that actually make it to translation) I think thats why most peaple think anime is for kids when there are some with rather mature stories.
