I decided at 163cm I needed a little more height to feel totally comfortable on my ER6F... Although I could touch the ground on both sides, I was finding our hilly, kitty litter covered drive a bit daunting... I got a wonderful shoe maker to add some rubber on my riding boots...and for $40 I gained 15mil and greater stability ...

:2guns: Thats why I wear combat boots.... Good height... Good tread and great suport. 9 times out of 10 cheaper then motorcycle boots.
You can get lace ups zip ups or both... even valcro if you like that stuff.

Who did you get to do them??

I'm always in need off extra help with height. You can buy boots with a decent sole on them, especially adventure styles but they aren't always tall enough for me:o

Good thinking. I like a bit of extra sole on my boots, especially with the sort of wind we get in welly occasionally, saved me a couple of times i'd say

Have been trying to get some boots built up 10-15ml here for,( Duke Girl ) in Paraparaumu, but price's here are up around $130.00. Would'nt mind a postal Address for this guy or some contact details.
Are they a hard rubber sole that he attached to the boots, and do they still retain the instep.?
Can't get your photo to a bigger size to have a good look.
Cheers.

that sounds great! I'm going to be in CHCH over Christmas, unfortunately they'll most likely be closed over the period i'm there though :( (although ya never know ya luck in the big city...) How long did it take to be done? I might even be persuaded to post my stinky boots to my inlaws to see if they can take them in for me lol.
p.s. i have some old combat boots of my dads which look like they might do the trick. Options I hadn't thought of!!! Thanks peeps!

Sorry I haven't been in for a while...
the boots still retain all shape, he shaped them as per the original boot, easy to walk in no discomfort at all...He takes the sole off and puts a shaped filler piece in I got 10 to 15 mil added, and then original sole is put back on...

I can't put a bigger photo on here I tried.... I can email the pix to you...(let me know)
It took a week to get them done, but depends on how busy he is, maybe 2 weeks now... $40 was a great price...and job superb.

I like this thread. It makes me realise my lofty 168cm is truly awesome. Another option is to use an inner in your boot. If you're only looking for a wee bit of extra height it's cheap and doesn't require modifying your boots.

Not that I've had any problems on any bikes you understand. Oh no.
