Perhaps I didn't imagine getting the evil eye in Eketahuna on Sunday.:(

Bwahahaha, Excellent  Soo... How many "shiny and red" bikes are in the south island? Let alone the possibility it could be a NI rider traveling around down there:confused:

johan
4th November 2008, 18:02
Probably someone came in too hot into Higgins and took a detour back to the pits, possibly stopped by the service station to fill up as well?

New Zealand geography isn't your strong point, is it?

Dont be so mean Steve, there is a Palmerston in the SI at least!

(My suspicions are that it could be a certain Hyosung rider from Whakatane way........., going to own up DB??? huh? huh?)

Trouser

True but the "North" part might have given it away.

I thought once Hyosungs went over 140 you got a piston through the leg and free engine dissasembly?

jrandom

I thought once Hyosungs went over 140...

Hyosungs go over 140?

:shit:

On another note, this makes a nice counterpoint to the recent "ZOMG someone did a runner and DIED" thread, doesn't it?

Because, my oh my, look at this: someone did a runner, nobody got hurt, the rider didn't get fucked over for breaking arbitrary road rules designed for campervans and Camrys, the cops got to burn some gas and rubber in the middle of an otherwise boring day... everybody wins.

:niceone:

my guess is that they lost the bike!

I've been to Eketahuna a few times.

I'm not surprised to read that the biker was in a hurry to get away.

McJim
4th November 2008, 20:47
Wasn't me - wrong island and my bike doesn't quite reach 200kph.

If it was a modern 600, 750 or 1000 though it should be able to top 240 on the straights.

You must spread some more reputation around before giving it to Katman again!

My lil'ol'hornet could never reach those speeds 'cept when its having a dream after being tucked up for the night! :scooter:

F'kn irresponsible twit speeding in my play ground. Does this mean I'll have to repaint CuBiX because she is red, shiny and can still do 200kph even though she is 23 years old?

Cudos to the plod backing off btw.

madboy
4th November 2008, 22:28
Oh the good old days. Sounds like a good day had by all.

MaxB

So, can someone clarify for me.

Some poor biker is stuck in Ekatahuna, and he's riding to get out of the place, and the cops were chasing him because he wasn't escaping fast enough???

(If you'd been to Ekatahuna you'd understand his plight and need to get out of town fast)...

The Pastor
5th November 2008, 08:47
dont you love it how they have the evidence that he was doing 140km/hr on two seperate occacions and then they make up a 200km/hr lie?

vifferman
5th November 2008, 08:50
It was me. I dunnit.

Dooly
5th November 2008, 09:06

AlBundy

Lol...

I think it's funny how they make 200 sound fast...

That's what, 3rd gear for a litre bike?

600's and 1000's crack more than that on quarter miles....

Like in the States when a biker is being chased... WOW, he's doing a hundred... BORING... That's what most litre bikes do in first....

BWAHAHAHAHA...

BTW, I don't care about running/not running in this case, just amused at the emphasis on the speed...

Dude, 200 is fast, no matter what gear you're in. Enough to fark you and others up beyond recognition.
It's a lot faster than most riders can handle. I'm sure any rider on a thou is happy to twist the throttle to reach that magic 200 mark, but how many can squeeze that front break in emergency from 200 with confidence?

Respect the power of the speed before you explore it.

I'm not disputing 200 is quick/fast, just amused by the fuss...

Oh, there's nothing magic about 200. It feels the same as 190 and 210.... Around 260+ is where you KNOW something's happening....

BWAHAHAHHA...

200 is very fast on the open road.

You don't see much wandering stock, tractors, or other hazards on a drag strip.

so its true.........red ones arefaster:niceone:

I don't think the tyres on my red bike would handle 200kph. It's also not road legal.

Hmmm who said it was a bloke?

You know - looking at your bike description on the right hand side, I think we have found the culprit!

Naaa, just kidding - it was actually meeeeee. The cops didn't give a better description because they were embarrassed that they couldn't keep up with a scooter!
