I've got a stack of paper on my desk - copies of my CV's, bank statements, ACC forms, etc etc that I need to throw out.
I've decided to be paranoid and buy a shredder.
Does anyone else do this? Or should I buy a tinfoil helmet while I'm at it. :innocent:
Just curious as to how sensitive people are to their personal information being rummaged through.....

I take all that sort of stuff into work and it goes in the secure bin for shredding.
I know people who have been the victims of identity theft. No, you're not being paranoid ;)

It IS November 5 after all...!!!!!
And a BIG yes to destroying those docs - for sure! Probably not going to be a problem - but if there is one downstream (someone latches onto personal info and causes any both).. I understand there is a duty of care around private info entrusted to you?
Burn it, shred it - do what you like... but destroy it

It's a huge thing in the UK, identity fraud, that is, most people shred these days. I don't know if it's as big a problem here but your wise to destroy it by whatever means, why help the scum buckets.

Make sure you destroy everything but one power bill that you leave under your gay lover's corpse somewhere in a National Park.

+1 to the many that go with the burn it option. However if you shred it then burn it, it burns even FASTER.

You're not being paranoid.
My advice is to get a cross-cut shredder. Also don't buy the cheapest model, you need something that can cope with the occasional staple or paperclip.

Do you break out in a cold sweat when your computer goes in for repairs?

Strangest thing....
The other week I was working at location here in Warkworth, massive commercial area. BMW Oracle are moving in, anyway, there are three containers on site (all locked) and this truck pulls up, on the side of the trucks are the words 'Document Destruction Company'.
This dude (wearing BMW Oracle apparell) loaded three wheelie bins of paper into the back of this truck, signed the clipboard and the truck drove away. now does that sound sus?? :shifty:

Some of the trucks have shredders built in...
a)Could/Should have been one of them...
b) If it wasnt, maybe the DDC have a contract signed
c) Catch the BMW Oracle rep and ask him what your cut is cuz you saw the 'whole' thing..

I did ask what they will be doing there but its all a bit hush hush....
Boats? yes, but what for? who knows. Testing and the American Market were the only key words I picked up on.

Shred 'em. Shredded paper goes into the worm bin.
