Well, BMW seem to be moving away from their old styles if this new concept is anything to go by...I Like it, real streetfighter appeal in this one, but that is just my opinion...

BMW has been out of the cruiser market since it stopped building its R 1200 C models a few years back. The market shift towards ever-larger engines was what prompted the German marque's withdraw, as the firm's latest Boxer engines just can't be bored or stroked nearly enough to compete with some of the V-Twin behemoths that currently fill the market. Lately, though, there has been a new segment emerging, and it could be described as custom standards. Sure, placing a torque-rich motor into a standard-style frame isn't anything new, but bikes like the Moto Guzzi Griso, Suzuki B-King and the latest Yamaha VMax (http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/04/officially-official-2009-star-motorcycles-vmax-with-live-pict/) prove that there is a revival in that particular niche. BMW could definitely fit into that category with its latest concept bike.

Introduced at the EICMA Show in Milan, the BMW LO Rider concept uses a variation of the standard Boxer theme, stripped down to its bare essentials. Up front, the traditional Bavarian Telelever fork has been replaced with a beefy USD telescopic fork holding twin wavy disc brakes. Two projector-style headlamps add some urban flair to the front of the bike while a single saddle seat marks the bike's minimalist design. Twin high-mount tailpipes, which do an excellent job of exposing the single-sided swingarm, complete the look. Rumors indicate that BMW is seriously testing public reaction to the new concept and could put the bike into production in very short order if demand is there. We say go for it.

Looks wicked from the back, those pipes and the wheel are fantastic :D Front end looks silly and aftermarket.

That is cool. Agree about the lights though, it looks like they nicked the front sub frame and lights out of the Ducati 999 parts bin.

Nice looking bike...But dont like the headlight it looks like an old gas light off a horse drawn buggy:msn-wink:And maybe tail pipes slightly shorter

Grouse. Shorten the pipes and we're good to go!

I see the point ya all make with the headlight, but that would be an easy fix, the main thing that bugs me is there is no pillion seat....wanna be able to go somewhere with my bitch sometimes...Lets hope it goes into production rather unmolested though

I like that....a LOT!!!

Although I'd rather it had forged wheels rather than wire spokes

Would do me fine. Best EFi on a motorcycle in the current boxers too.

Looks great! Never thought I'd see a BMW street tracker but there you go.

BMW is doing some really interesting stuff at the moment. Just look at the new F800 GS and G450X models.

The more i look at it the more i like it.
Always liked the look of the boxer engine but BMW always wrapped it in bland.
Not on this one but.

It's uglier than my grandmothers fanny. And given she is now dead, I'd say thats looking pretty bad right now.

Looks like a nice place to put a decent V Twin engine. You can bet your arse with the new emissions and noise regs that on that on the production bikes those mufflers are gonna be HUGE.
