Hey to all, Ive been on KB for years but never posted much. Now I have a reliable bike to ride I need to get out and about a bit more.....
Just some advise needed on second hand gear for my son. I picked up the new bike yesterday and am hoping to take my young lad with me over the Christmas break for a trip or two away. Only thing is he's growing like crazy and I need to get him a full kit of gear with out breaking the bank ( bike's done that already)
Is there a forum here I haven't found yet......

Try the pawn shop... if it still exists. Failing that, do a tour of the second hand shops...
Leather jackets can be a few sizes bigger than him. In winter/cold days, more room for the woolies.

Try putting a "want to buy" ad here on KB. Many members have children riding with them, there must be gear around that people want to find a home for. A guy I work for just bought a full set of leathers for his 13y/o daughter off Trade Me so you could try browsing through there too.

How cool would you be if you were 13 and had a full set of leathers!! :Punk:
I've got no real advise for you sorry, no kids at this stage, but I would have suggested Trade me as well. What about motorcross gear though? There's heaps of that made in kids sizes compared with road gear. I know some of the gear i.e. jerseys, would be useless for the road. But I suppose you could get something to go over top for the "slip" factor. More people selling it too.
Good luck. Just like any kids specific stuff, even the second gear will be pricey in comparison with us big-kid gear. I'm not looking forward to kitting my grasshoppers out when I get around to having some. I'm not sure what I would do either.

Have a look at this site , it is not second hand but the prices are not too bad.
It is bloody hard to find kids gear, I would not use second hand gear so I would not use it for little people either.

The suggestions are great thanks heaps. I just know that he is as keen as mustard to travel away with me and there's no way I'm going without him kitted out well.
I'm still feeling my way around this site and as soon as I get to grips with it I'll do some ad's etc.
