Cheers mate, I seem to be getting a bit of that aye, checking it out, I think everyone secretly wants one but fears what they can be like... I know I did till I bit the bullet and got shafted. Hopefully this ones engine should be solid for a fair while yet with the work done though.
Cheers mate

Yeah don't hold it against the bike, better bikes than this have been chris'd. In fact two of the chris hating V twin suzukis are sitting in motohaus at the moment actually.
But he is right about the ease of getting it back to looking good and yeah, mechanically I rate it as being bulletproofish

Thats not very good bargaining saying my lowest up front but thats it

I've been watching your bike at home and from work since it first went on. I've been interested in your bike .. DAMN som1 just put it too $2900, well worth it. I've been waiting for my loan to come through, so I can replace my ZZR250 engine, get rid of it and then buy your RGV. Looks like I've run out of time DAMN!!!!!!
I've been trying to find out the 0-100m time for the RGV, wondering if you can help. 0-100 and 400m times would be really helpful. ALSO
Would my mates CBR 600 F2 blitz the RGV or would the RGV hold up. I know the F2 corners like cr*p but this F2 is on 92hp and tops out at 252km/h

Sorry to disappoint but, of those 500 odd views, around 200-300 are mine. I work at ihug and have a phat connection at home, and I've been watching this bike from the start (probably around 20 times a day + extra when I get home).
$3000 by morrow. Ill try to come up with that by then , but the auction will be over by the time I get to the bank and then get som1 with a trademe account and then manage to stick in the bid, I think the bike will go. DAMN IT! I was gonna get my Sh*tty/boring/no fun/not running blown engined GPX 250 repaired, sell it for $1500 (or as much as I could get for it) and then buy that bike, but due to major f*ckups at some reputable motorcycle stores in Auckland my bike's engine was never couriered to me. FINALLY (a month later) An engine has been found and being couriered up tommorrow from "bits n buckets". If the reserve is not meet I will be taking that thing off you. :apint: And then cruising to Puhoi for a beer (after replacing that cable).
I WANT YOUR BIKE.

the CBR600 would annialate the RGV....
RGV 0-100 in about 5-6 seconds (its quite hard to launch 2 strokes quickly)
400m in about 12.9 if your really good and light, other wise low 13's

How hardcore are the RGV250s? Like, how much experience is nessecary to safely ride one?

I remember taking a mates RGV for a blat not long after getting my learners (about a year) and it scared the merry crap out of me.
I'm not sure that the words 'safely riding' and 'RGV' can ever go in the same sentence, even if you're a experienced rider...

If your are cranked right over, and hit the powerband, it can be a pants wetting event.... You need a bit of experience, its like jumping on a 400 sports bike... But with a far more violent power curve...

Hi Guys!
well , if your wanting to buy a RGV on your learners? id be a bit careful :) lol
if you have had bike experience on a farm (riding fast) or raced motocross or enduro? youd be ok, as you know to handle a bike a in a slide (power or braking)
its very easy to get yourself in trouble on a RGV coz no engine braking like 4 stks ! and coz the bike handles (even better with sport setup) fairly well , you tend to blast around bends a bit quicker than normal :) the bike has very quick accellration and things come up very quickly! wooooo their nelllly lol. they are extremely fun to ride! deserve respect until you have experience of it. If your quite happy to own one? as 1st bike, just take it easy until you gain exp! what ever you do dont hit second power band around a blind corner! youll be on a death wish! as they dont stop as quick as you may think! lol. Dont do high miles 2 stks dont like big miles, get it serviiced by ppl that know what they are doing!
:)
Great power band!
always thought a CR500R motor would be good on the road! ;)

Yeah sorry mate, some dude from KB actually bought it so that was a bonus, had another guy call me last night that wanted to buy it aswell but then the dude from here hit the buy now. Had about 5 people call me for this, pretty desireable bike, imagine if the exterior had been mint, I might have creamed it on this one.
All the best though man, RGV is a fucken fun bike, goes like shit, look after them and watch out for dodge ones and all is well. Plus pay them respect, I've been riding for about 4 and a half years and I still believe it needed to be shown respect.

What can you suggest for
http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auction_detail.asp?id=22679743&key=4196103
To be made as good/reliable as the bike that you had for sale. I might by this as soon as I know what to ask that Ray Clee guy to do.

What should I do to
http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auction_detail.asp?id=22679743&key=4196103
To make sure it will last?
Like where should I take it and what should ask to be checked? I dont want to buy another time bomb again. I service my vehicle's regularly and always keep good tyres on them, but Im so paranoid about engines and gearbox's with Bikes now.
PLEASE HELP

Hey, nice bike!
Give me a PM if you get it, and I'll sort you out with manual etc...
I hope you like getting your hands dirty!cos your gonna!
Quite honestly... you want it to last? DO ALL THE WORK YOURSELF!
It's quite easy, and I can help to explain anything that gets you stumped.
Whatever you do, make sure you give it a decent check out before riding it to far!
If you get me on a good work day, I might be able to check out the barrells etc beore you buy, or I can do it after if you have already brought it.
Let me know

Check out your other thread... more there.
Ray is probably the best person I can think of to do any work for you... but I thought money was an issue for you?
Spend more on the suspension than the engine... it will make you faster
