All loaded up in the car with the wife, twins and 3 week old new addition and
heading home from some shopping, Cruising through a traffic light controlled intersection with green light, next thing I see the car that was coming in the opposite direction and turning right has decided not to give way (don't know how she missed me I'm in a car that's covered in maps) :Oi: I take evasive action, brake and turn left, but too late she smacks into my back passenger (right handside) and shunts me up onto the traffic island, I jump out to check the kids (thankfully all ok) and see her looking back, so I tell her to pull over and I will whip around to (have a go) and sort out insurance etc, so I turn around and lo and behold the dirty slapper has done the runner:nono:.
I do a quick areas to see if I can spot her to no avail, so I start to head to the police station when a 4wd pulls up next to me and toots the horn, turns out he saw the whole thing followed her up the road, watched her hop out try and fix her front end up and then she fucked off....BUT he got her rego (sweeeet) :headbang: and also spotted that she was in full army fatigues and was heading out to the linton army barracks, nice work!!!.......
Man it gave me a fright with all the kids in the car....and I intend to make sure that she gets full punishment AND to make her feel as bad as possible about hitting a car full of kids then doing the runner GGRRRRR :2guns:
END RANT

Big scare mate, thank goodness you are all uninjured! Kiss your babies and your wife tonight and tell them how much you love them.
I sincerely hope the wench driving the car that hit you gets the book and then some thrown at her.

Go to the Military Police rather than the civi police, trust me they will be ALOT harsher on her then the civies will be.

Make sure you make a formal complaint to the Army CO at Linton. I am sure the MP's will investigate as well.
Give them full details of her description and rego, actions and the fact she brought shame upon the Army by doing what she did whilst wearing her uniform and breaking the law - twice... crashing AND leaving the scene with ascertaining injury of the other party.

squeeze every last penny you can out of that bitch... ruin her. The likely case is that she doesn't have insurance so fuck that bitch over! Just the other day my partners car was written off by some bloody rude, careless maori woman without insurance... bleeding everything we can get out of her!
Edit: and please report back with what happens!

Maybe for the crash, but they would investigate anyway and give their findings to the civis, or charge her with other charges like the ole clasic 'Actions unbecoming a soldier' in my day you wernt a real soldier unless you had that one under your belt.
Its a camp not a base, bases are for the airfarce and rubberduckies the navy play with.... :Pokey:
Sorry not being picky, just dont have anything better to do right now.
Actualy why dont you give the camp a call right now and get the duty MP out!! hahah that'll give em somthing to do...:spanking:

Its called a camp because army types dressed in "you can't see me clothing" are "in tents"....
I recall a run-in with the Captain's table after a night of drunken stupidity... woke up with a massive hangover in a different country and couldn't find the ship.:innocent: "Actions unbecoming an officer".

She may be in the army but she is still under the auspices of a civilian. The Minister of Defence.
Write a letter to your MP and a copy to both the Minister of Defence and the Camp commandant who ever that my be. Give all details and say the you want to be informed of the investigation of the incident. The woman failed to stop after accident to ascertain injury. That she ran is an indication or admission of being at fault.

Maybe she was S.A.S on a top-secret mission to stop a nuclear terrorist attack on Auckland... so crashing into a few civilian cars along the way was a small price to pay for saving thousands of lives.
Just like in the movies.

Just been out to the army base and reported it to the MP's , and man they were fuming, :angry2: took photos sent someone out straight away to pick her up, and they were VERY concerned that she had hit the car where the twins were sitting. I must say you are right the NZ police are SOFT compared to MP's.
They are going to keep me posted but did say that she will be in for tough time :bash:
and im sure it will be the last time that she decides to do a runner or anything illegal

Good to hear that your family are all ok, and that you're following up with the authorities.
It shits me when people cause an accident then do a runner.

Just had a call from the MP's and they have spoken to the offender to get her story, turns out she is a new driver (which makes it worse as the road code will be fresh in her mind) and she has stated the reason that she did the runner, and not to tell anyone about it blah blah, was due to the fact that I had jumped out and swore at her, which intimidated her....boo hoo :crybaby:
what the fuck did she expect, she just broke a fairly basic road rule and smacked into me while I had my young family in the car, course I'm going to call her a fucking stupid bitch.....anyway just waiting to hear back from the police to see what the next step is :Police:, Ill keep ya posted......

WTF?? What sort of soldiers is this army creating?? I know ex-soliders who are hard enough to make rotties think twice without saying a word. Damn woman is an idiot and a PUSSY. Can you imagine her in battle - "I can't charge that gun emplacement, the guy shooting as is thinking mean thoughts!"
And another thing, if someone endangered the lives of my kids (wish I had some), then I'd do more than swear at the bitch...

Nope - both military staff and police members are held accountable for actions in private life that reflect disrepute upon their respective employers under the relevant codes of conduct/HR regulations. You can get effectively "done" twice.

The Air force at least take a dim view of serving members doing anything that may tarnish the services' good name.
Things like failing to stop, shooting on to base through a side gate, having everyone up to the base adjutant dragged out of bed, all exits blocked, dogs, etc etc will see you doing time standing at attention and then cleaning stuff and then being banned from driving on the base forever which includes as a passenger.
My brother was banned from one base for wearing a t-shirt with a simple message on it and I think chasing rabbits round the football field, pissed, on his CB900 got him banned from another one as well.

here is the update a year on.....and again the courts have failed to impress.....
they gave her diversion as they didn't want to damage her army career :crybaby:, so all she got was a $150 fine payable to a charity and to write a letter of apology to us (which wasn't that apologetic)...and that is it.....pretty much what I have come to expect from the NZ justice system (if you can call it that)....

Hmm. Write back something to make her feel really guilty. Hopefully the silly bint has a bit of a consience (i.e. "we nearly lost the twins at birth, they're out little miracles" and so on).
Failing that, send her letter to her CO with a note about why you think it's unacceptable. Might as well twist the knife while you have the chance.
Did her insurance pay up?

Dear CO Linton Army Camp
I am appalled that the NZ Justice system has seen fit to grant Diversion to an Officer of the NZ Military given the cowardly response displayed in the face of a simple MVA. I am a NZ citizen and expect better from people charged with the defence of NZ.
My children were in the car and if I had not registered that the officer in question was about to perform an illegal turn and taken avoiding action the consequences may have been far worse. It is only because a concerned citizen displayed the sort of moral fibre expected of Army officers that this Army Officer was even called to account, thanks to her inability to own the consequences of her actions.
I am writing to express my disappointment that her apology wasn't anything of the sort. If the NZ Military and the NZ Justice system value an Army career over basic principles of respect and responsibility to the citizens they serve then heaven help us if we should have to rely on the Army if it were ever called to defend the people this officer has such a casual disrespect for.
If the officer in question had stopped at the accident scene then the court process would not have even been initiated. It would have been an insurance issue.
Yours, most sincerely,
NZ Citizen - You know, the guys you get paid to protect, to help in times of need.

What I don't get is this:
She seems to have gotten off lightly, and I'd guess if she'd managed to hurt the kids in the car she'd have been punished more severely.
So (if my guess is right) the amount of punishment here is based on the outcome.
Yet, on the other hand, people seem to get fined harder for stuff like speeding - where no actual "bad stuff" has actually occured. The fines there are supposed to stop the risky behaviour from being performed.
So which way around do the authorities want it?
The kids are allright. That's about the best part of it. Could have been worse.
Mikkel

The issue isn't really the prang... shit happens (even when it shouldn't) and all that.
But anyone who leaves the scene of an accident, no matter how minor, without exchanging details and making sure everyone involved are safe (TM) should be fucking shot IMHO. Failing that at least jail or at the very very least indeed community service and forced to pay reparations...
Doing a runner is the epitome of failing to take resposibility for your actions. And there is no real freedom without responsibility.

What sort of lawyer do you have??
A very speshull one :blip:
This is a totally unacceptable outcome. I am struggling to accept the fact that her "potential career advancement" meant she did not get the book thrown at her. Bet that would not have worked the same way had I been the driver that hit you.
To leave the scene of the accident and then attempt to do some running repairs to enable her to get away, followed by some sort of limp wristed excuse for her actions coupled with an obvious bias by the injustice system is appalling.
There were babies and loved ones in that car! Mind you the outrage should be felt as strongly for any person I guess.
I would be writting several letters if I was you, maybe even enlisting some "friends" to support you by writing too.
