I was following a pack of Triumph riders coming into Auckland heading down Hobson street and they made the classic mistake of not riding staggered in the lane. Front guy on the Blue Sprint (you know who you are) stopped fast and the guy behind on what looked like a bonneville couldn't stop in time (You know who you are too ;) ) had it all sideways and almost stopped but shot up the left hand side and tore off the left side panier from the sprint. While it was funny afterwards this could have been horrible.
Now you guys looked to be in your late 40s so I'll assume it was a lapse of concentration. Unlucky guys.
Just a reminder when riding in big groups....staggered and enough distance to stop or this could be you and worse it could be you at speed punting your mate into the interection!
Ofcourse I'm perfect and all as I'm normally on the back wheel down hobson street.... :bleh:

A good message there no mater what localle, make/model, age, race, gender, sexeral orientation, religious leanings or planet you live on. With all the chrisy toy runs coming up quite an appropriate time to reinforce it.

Not likely - By half past nine Eddie and I were the only ones in the bar and we both drink diet coke. They are saving it for the weekend.

Heading out to Martins Bay this morning, about 12-15 Triumphs were heading back into Warkworth..Sprints and non Sprints, all seemed fairly incident free.

Were you hanging out at the bar for good stories? "Roving reporter" type stuff?
Mate is taking Monday off work to allow himself (liver?) to recover...

I still have my Thunderbird and do RAT occasionally. I went to the first nine raids and (liver) survived.
Would have liked to have gone but some paying gigs came up.
Photographing the cross country race at Naike on Sunday and then off to cover the 09 Spyder launch.
