As far as I can tell 160 beats per minute is the riding beat. Suck bang wheeze.
the 12 bass bars:

and just to give james fits - with a drum machine for an example of the 'driving beat'.

Okay, I better bookmark this thread.
Oldest son's birthday today so will be in trouble if I spend the day in the cave.
I may just load this into Cubase and see what I can come up with tonight. Sure beats studying visual basic and XML....

Riffer gets it - it a basic 12 bar loop that he can repeat and lay some licks over.

Okay, I've tweaked the loop and thrown it into Cubase.
Bloody busy today so that's as far as I've got. Now its in there I can record some stuff and see what we've got.
One thing Dave. The loop isn't perfect and I had to trim a smidgeon off the end of it to get it to work properly.
And what's this bloody 12 bar blues in C buddy. C! What kind of a blues key is that?

Exactly what the hippie says too.
Like I thought about it. :-)
Yeah - the end went wonky in the convert to mp3 now that I look.
Bin it and I'll redo it in A - But I've got an agenda for the next 72 too.

Too late. Got busy in Cubase SX.
This should be worth a laugh... apologies for the dodgy lead - made it up on the spot with no thought whatsoever.

For the interested, the setup here is:
- 1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom
- Boss GT3 pedal board running Peavey 5150 amp emulation with emulated TS-9 (brown sound mod, of course), stereo DI'd into
- Athlon64 3500 WinXP PC running Cubase SX (ASO4ALL drivers)
There's three guitar tracks here - the two rhythm tracks are identical (a 4 bar loop repeated), only difference is second rhythm track is chorused to get rid of that slightly thin sound I get when I'm not miking the Marshall, but hey, it's 10.30 at night and the wife and kids are asleep...
The lead guitar is the 5150 sound again, with chorus and compression added for a beefed up lead sound.
From start to finish about 30 minutes.
