Well, next year Suzuki will be shipping in three new models for the Aussie LAMS sceme. As you already know, the GS500 and GS500F have filled that gap quite nicely. Honda countered by brining in the new CB400 super four, (although not the S model - yet).

So now, the SV650S, SFV Gladius 650 and GSX650F will be offered as LAMS "U" models. The "U" is for "underpowered". after one completes his full licence, one merely goes back to the dealer to get the ROM chip changed. No throttle restrictors as on the Ducati Monster 620 Lite and no long carb slides as on the Hyosung GT650 series either.

They look exactly like the others, so no need to post pictures. They're all the same price as the others as well. Good on Suzuki for having some common sense!!

Here are the bikes:

SV650SU (http://www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au/modeldetail.php?intBikeID=250)

The recent GT650 Hyos are EFI not carb, so I wonder how they modify them.

Ah good on Suzuki, I would have thought the FU would have stood for Fuck You, rather than under powered, oh well we live and learn.
