View Full Version : On road sermon!

Solly
9th November 2008, 14:38
I just come back from Outram and on the way back, had an idiot fail to give way and ..........well with sphincter puckered, managed to avoid a nasty incident.
The thing that really got my heckles up was the fact I had my son on the back [he's fine and was unaware of the close shave].
Needless to say, I thought this clown needed some roadside "driver education" for two reasons.....
1. Was to vent, and more importantly,
2. To raise the awearness of motorcycles and the need to obey road signage.

So I tailed this airhead and caught up with them at the lights in Mosgiel, tapped on their window and proceeded to deliver my Sunday Sermon.

Why am I writing this???.......simply to encourage others to do the same if it ever happens to you. I'm not advocating road rage or for you to do something you don't feel comfortable or safe doing but to merely educate other road users of the importance obeying the road rules and to be that bit more aware of motorcycles.
By doing this, you may just have an influence on how the driver conducts themselves in the future and make our roads that bit safer.

Changing my dangerous ways
riding round early this afternoon riding along like a moron again lane splitting in 50 zones and all that stupid crap speeding and so on go round this car and they gave me evils....oh watever look at something else... i think to myself get up to some lights... stopped at the lights....nailed it redlining every gear thinking i am god. flicking it through corners at just plain stupid speeds.

then i dunno wtf it was but i just looked behind had miles behind me thought time to change my ways...i have no idea what bought about this change.....stomped on the anchors down to just hovering on 50 kph... and rode round 50 kph zones at 50 the whole day yes if traffic was doing 55 or so i hovered there but not the usual 90-110+ lane splitting speeds.....

i am sure this is a resolve to myself i need to and am going to keep before i either loose my license or kill myself or somebody else because of my dangerous ways....

thank you to all the people that had told me to just chill and stop playing ghostrider...

i'm sure i will be much better off for it....

and ive had my kicks of being a retard on the roads.... it's time to grow up be an adult and respect that the roads are for others too....

so i am resolving to ride sensibly from now on mainly not speeding but also stopping the weaving in and out of lanes riding down the road standing on my seat....riding down the road with both feet slung out to the same side of the bike doing the can can......

time to grow up....and i did...all afternoon...

and i plan to keep doing this....somethings triggered me

i was always so angry with myself that i rode the way i did and had no self control or patience on the roads...

now ive woken up and plan to keep it that way...

i know your probably all going to poke shit at me about this thread go ahead i know what ive been doing up until now was stupid and down right dangerous ....

Is it april 1st already Carver?

But if you're actually serious then good on ya. You don't have to ride around on the open road like a nana but it sure is good to keep the speed down in built up area's and be considerate to other road users.

Dunno 'bout joints but I once worked with an old drover who could roll his baccy rollies with one hand. I spent six months trying to master it. Never did.

His hands were so calloused he's strike his wax match on the palm of his hand to light the rollie.

Shit that's bought lump in my throat.

Highly unlikely he'll see anything other than some irate dude in black chasing him down !
The guy Failed to give way, so i'd say it's a habituall thing and of course failed to see him which is nothing new !

Had the same thing with my 14 yr old daughter on the back on the weekend !
One of them right turning lane that carries on as a merging lane, which goes through the lights as two lanes and merges some 300 odd mtrs past the lights ! So a great many of the through traffic use it as an overtaking opportunity, by jumping into the merging lane and getting a two or three car jump at the lights !

Of course i'm coming out of the intersection into a clear merg lane (was of course looking left, right, left, right, go sort of thing), only to have this bloke not see me cause i just aint a car !!!!!!! Pulled across on me just as i entered the lane, His kids saw me, his wife saw me, but even after his wife protested, he pretended not to see me and kept comming ! I was a perfect case of whoops i fucked up and pulled out on that biker dude, but if i ignore him he might go away with out too much more embarrassment in front of my family !
A simple two fingers pointed at my eyes while shaking the head, as i passed his window slowly when we next hit a passing lane, was enough i'd say !
No need to stalk him till he stopped, as
A/ i was in no position to handle a road rage incident (with my kid on the back) if he should feel intimidated and the fight or flight kicked in, no way he could out run me !
B/ i was over it, that shit happens daily, you know someone is likely to not see you somewhere on yr ride !
C/ ok ok i said in point A/ that i wasn't alone, but had i been alone and he did same movement and ignored his wifes scream, chances are i'da done a carver on his arse, taken his wing mirror off his pathetic pajero and flicked him the bird as i spat past his drivers door !
Bigger than me my asss, lets play, bring on the rage !

But take time out of my day to lecture him pfffffffft !

Well done Solly. How did the cager respond?

Maybe I'm just being podantic but I can't help but want to go and give cagers a verbal blasting when they make turns in front of me and don't indicate. Especially on my route to work, it happens ALL THE TIME. Someday that ignorance could hurt someone.

From what your boyfriend said on Saturday, what you have to lift is only really little...

I see you post stuff like you're going to grow up and get a life, then all I see or hear is you waving your little dick in public. That's fine, go hard, someone out there will make good use of your organs.

But riding drunk - that crosses a line. If you take out some innocent, I'm going to piss on your grave everytime I ride through Hamilton.

If you think you're any good, come play on the track. If you think you can outgun me, come play in a ring with me (not the sort of ring you're used to playing with).

If you are trying to make a subtle threat about holding a gun to my head, try it, but you'd better be serious because that would be a one time event for one of us.

I don't give a fuck if you crash and die, in fact I think the national IQ would leap a few points without your gene's in the pool. The problem is young guys come on this site and think that you're cool or something, and they do the same lame dumb shit. With no self respect, and no honour, you're a waste of oxygen anyhow. Why don't you go fit N02 or a turbo, take up smoking P as well as drunk riding - it'll speed up the process.

As for track being for pussies. Yeah, that's right, totally for pussies... Moron; you're so far off the reservation. I know guys on RS125's who'd hand you your ass. Actually, I know guys on Buckets that'd tear you a new one.

As for track being for pussies. Yeah, that's right, totally for pussies... Moron; you're so far off the reservation. I know guys on RS125's who'd hand you your ass. Actually, I know guys on Buckets that'd tear you a new one.

Haha love the troll going on.....just to change tack here...I work pukekohe race track as a rescue firefighter , and was there on the weekend for the BNT v8 series round 2. first v8 race on sunday i was sitting in the car engine running, firefighter next to me , in the car next to us was a driver paramedic and the medics firefighter...cars go past us on track safty cars lights go out at point five just past kink on back straight, safety pulls over and the 8`s go to 80 kph for the rolling start....call comes in from race control, ' cars on top of the hill team get ready for a start' light goes green and race control again,'yes yes yes, Racing ' 3 seconds later just one word from race control.......'Shit'. Then its 'FIV 1 Rescue 1, FIV 2 Rescue 2 (which we didnt hear cause of shit comms and our radio cut out at that exact moment lol) FIV 3 Rescue 3 roll to turn 1 multiple crash. As the first rescue marshall gets there and starts reeling off car numbers, by this time our radio had started to work again we finally are asked to respond and if you saw the crash on the news youd be as amazed as we were that no one was hurt....Thing is and heres the point these guys are all exceptional drivers and have extremely quick reactions, yet were unable to avoid this crash caused by someone elses fuck up , so if you really think your good carver and can handle anything you should be making millions as a motorcycle racer or Car driver...yet all you do is blow real hard but all kudos to you cause you a real funny guy and by all accounts really really good at trolling....all I can say is take care man and try not to take anyone else out should you crash , and I hope you never do. This weekend was my first Drive at a big event and was The biggest buzz ill have for a while....when returning to point we need to get there as quick as possible so high speeds around the track are necessary so the racing can resume. I know it doesnt sound fast but around the 150 kmph mark from our v6 commodores is a feat in itself lol.

Sure, here goes.

Carver, I'd suggest that you slow down on the street, or at least stop posting about it so that younger viewers aren't influenced. That might buy you some respect from at least some of the people on the site. Most will never respect you, but that's the price of admission for abnormal or revolting behaviour.

Further, I'd suggest you go and see a beauty therapist, because if you're really gay, you'll find that once your ass gets stretched, you'll find it harder to acquire new boyfriends.

Finally, I suggest that you might find time in your busy schedule to seek some help about your attitude towards drunk driving/riding. Even if you're being a troll, it's not funny to those of us who have lost friends and family to drunken moronic motherfuckers like yourself, and since this causes us anger and the willingness to inflict severe pain, you might agree that this is better avoided that engaged.

I wish you help with your speedy recovering from being an asshole, and hope that you'll join the rest of civilisation sometime soon.

How's that for constructive?

Dunno 'bout joints but I once worked with an old drover who could roll his baccy rollies with one hand. I spent six months trying to master it. Never did.

1978, 'Champion Ruby ready rubbed'. Now there was a smell.

Bwahahahaha

The guy Failed to give way, so i'd say it's a habituall thing and of course failed to see him which is nothing new !

No need to stalk him till he stopped, as
A/ i was in no position to handle a road rage incident (with my kid on the back) if he should feel intimidated and the fight or flight kicked in, no way he could out run me !

But take time out of my day to lecture him pfffffffft !

1. It wasn't a case of failing to give way, it was a matter of not even slowing down to get ready to give way.
2. "Stalking"!!!!???. We were both going the same way on the same peice of road...hardly call that stalking!!!
3. "Road rage"??...I said in my origional post that if you dont feel comfortable or safe......
4. "Lecture him".....funny how every who has repleid has an auto-defalt to the male gender [interesting]....does everyone think females are good drivers???...to put the record straight it was a female.

Well done Solly. How did the cager respond?

I fully agree with the treat them like they are trying to kill you. Only way to really be safe is to constantly be thinking ahead and expecting people to be stupid.

Resonded quite well actually...was apologetic and embarressed....and yes also agree with the "treat them like they are trying to kill you" idea.

Hey Carver, you have certainally made this thread colourful....I can't help, but think of a quote...it goes something like this.

"'Tis better to keep your mouth shut, and be thought a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt"

Can't wait to hear what you have to say next.

His hands were so calloused he's strike his wax match on the palm of his hand to light the rollie.

Shit that's bought lump in my throat.

I always found it friggin amazing. I never could roll smokes while driving windy roads, had to buy tailors. Ah tghe good old days!
