The MV's price seemd to drop a bit and I'm sure Malcolm Breadmore has a 1300cc haybusa but hey they are just facts, not really the domain of the modern journalist anyway...

But back to the topic,

I saw that on the telly as well and I'm thinking "Do I know that person from somewhere?" took me a while to realise it was from KB.

great effort. and is the MV really only $11k? would you swap a lightly used Honda Hornet and some cash?

Cheers NC

wots with the media missing zeros off pricetags! heh

Thanks so much for all those kind words and photos everybody. Ive been pretty blown away by all the messages, phonecalls, txts, emails etc. I cant keep up with them:mobile:

Well I went out yesterday having had never ridden the bike before. My goal was to blitz the current womans un-official title. Tambi made that easy:love:
and she sure made it easy to adjust to a big inline 4! I havn't ridden one for a fair while now. I may even think I WANT ONE!!!!!!! :shifty:

But geeze ...I never expected to ride away with the new NZ 750-1050cc Standing Quarter Mile official record. What a bike!!!!! and what a day:woohoo:

So many people to thank, I couldn't have done this without them all! But on this occasion....
Chris (MV Nut) your huge efforts and generosity in making the Tambi mine until 4pm on the day was so far beyond generous! If only I could make her mine until 4pm in 2010 some time lol:msn-wink:

Kerry and Emma from KTL Motorcycles and Rob and Cherry Taylor for flying down here and your continueing racing support! AWESOME! Anglo American MC Club, Matt from Gasoline Ally who wholeheartedly supported me. Cliffhanger Promotions for EVERYTHING! the MARSHALLS!!!! they did an amazing long day out there keeping us safe! and....so many more but I had a hard day at work and my brain is mushy.

Big congrats to Ivan.....what a day you had matie! AWESOME! so pleased for you. And Congrats to you crazy sidecar boys! some heart in mouth scarey moments on those bumps for sure! Steve you guys have huge courage! a hugely deserved record!

My heart sank for Malcolm when his first run was to be his last of the day! He was sure heading for a new record, but next time that Busa will be even faster! And records WILL break!

And Paul made a huge attempt on a road that was scarey....big ups to him for getting the speeds he gained. Next time on a level road, with much more traction that Desmo is going to FLY!

Cheers heaps all!

PS......did anyone get pics of my burnout????

Congrats Vicky, a well deserved record due to persistance and courage you are awsom.
Well done and congrats to all who were involved, everyone pushed on even with the challenging enviorment.
the sidecar was definatly a hand full with heaps of scary moments but we have unfinished business and will be back.
A road with traction would be a huge help. Steve

Hey Steve, that sidecar of yours is wicked mate, insane stuff. I have been checking out some good roads around Chch, any of you keen to come South?? And do Cliffhanger want to run it down here? (can someone give me a contact number) I will organise it otherwise but would prefer to concentrate on getting some more horsepower and traction etc for Vicki. So far it looks good with help from Europe, thanks guys, and so we need some good weather on the day. Anyone have major connections upstairs. What dates approx suit you other racers ? After the Sth Island rounds of the Nats maybe ??? Suggestions welcome.:Punk:

Hi Chris,

Cliff Hanger e-mail (Garry and Dina) is galbrett@xtra.co.nz.

I will also get Malcolm Breadmore'e e-mail to you as I'm sure he is keen to have another go on a more suitable road. He instigated the speed record attempt last weekend and is familiar with the MNZ rules.

Given the right road I reckon there are a lot of existing records that could be quite easily beaten.

A few suggestions were made here a few years back when Phil was looking for a better road to run the side car down to put the speed up even higher

I was actually thinking of Telegraph Rd, 12km straight and flat and wide with a centreline. Goes out west from Burnham Military Base. We probably need 6 or so kms of that 12.

Hey Deano, any chance of it going back to the old site near the Dam ?
Also, an old venue was the Loopline out of Masterton I did in the 60's !!!!!! But I haven't seen the road for years. Used to be a good one, had a long down hill run up. G.
