Today I went up to Barbagallo Raceway, north of Perth, W.A. We were fortunate to have an International race day with stars from the UK (7) & NZ (1). Numerous British Supersport & IOM TT race wins between them.
N.Z's only rep was Bruce Anstey (7 times IOM winner).
Classes: Clubman 600 & 1000; Sidecars; Superbikes; Supersport; Superstock.
It was a gloriously sunny day and the racing was great. Unfortunately from a Kiwi point of view, it was a little disappointing, with Bruce being a fair way back in two of his three races and crashing out of one. Glenn Allerton, the reining Aust S/bike Champ, was brilliant, taking two wins and a second, to be crowned King of Wanneroo.
The sidecars were great to watch, with the usual great cornering antics. Two young locals gave the Aussie champs a run for their money in the first few laps. Shane Soutar & Jeff Rowe actually sealed the championship on the day.
A nice Triumph Adventurer caught my eye. First time I had seen one, so included a pic. Anyone got one?
