Thought i'd put my views on the 08 rmz 450 on here.

I bought the 08 last week and traded my 07 rmz 450 in on it and i was suprised just how different it is to the 07.
Me and quicker with age and another guy had 3 rmz to compare and they were my 07 , the new 08 and hurleys new 450 for the coming SX season.
much to my suprise the 08 and hurleys were very similar even though his bike had exhaust, and his suspension , wheels and set up for him.

My first impression of thew 08 was it felt narrower but until i actually rode it i didnt notice how much narrower it feels.
on the track it is real noticable as into corners i was right up on the tank and it just felt so easy to move around on the bike.
It turns so much easier than my 07 did and i had dropped my forks in the clamps but this bike kills it .
I'm not sure but the 08 feels shorter in length and it is just so easy to throw around. I cant compare it to a 250 as i've never ridden a 250f but it is way easier than the 07,
The front brake is alot better than my 07 and the bite i got out of it was great,
i had the shop change the standard tires to S12s.
Fi is great .
I asked Scott from on here what he thought and he said it is alot smoother and i have to agree with him it is just so different to the 07 .
Jimmy from performance factory had done some stuff to my carb on the 07 and it gave a good hit of power where the 08 is different as it just takes off straight from thr bottom so silky smooth and is super responsive.
Starting the bike is bloody easy after hurlz showed us the trick.
if been sitting nice soft kicks 5 times to make a charge then push slowly till you feel it click just off tdc and then follow through with a good kick and it fires it to life effortlessly.
The suspension was ok i guess but for my lard arse it was bit soft so we are changing my ohlins from the 07 onto the 08 and just taking the springs out of the forks of the 07 and see how it goes and then if i need it Jimmy will revalve her.
The extra gear is like a godsend for out on the trails , i found i was going alot faster in the open as the bike not ringing its balls off like you would on the 07.
all in all i think this bike is the ducks guts , man i love it.
there is nothin i dont like about it
I'm so pleased i changed bikes as i really had no intention of doing it till next year but i got an offer for a trade i couldn't refuse and tires changed with ultra duty tubes at no cost , and hour meter.
I reckon that if you were looking at a 450f but thought that they may be too big for you i reckon you should try the 450 as it really is just so easy to chuck around compared with the 07.
Quicker with age from this site will be able to say what he thinks about the ease of riding this bike as he is a smaller guy.

great review but sounds like a lot of effort to start it,has it not got a little button on the right hand side by the throttle that you press?.

mate you'l have to buy a ktm for that starting method.
it only if it been sittin for a day.
mine holds charge for most of day . so it first time i start it for the day .
it easy to kick over .
and the 5 kicks are effoertless.
then after that whenever i start bike again it just find the click and then one kick.

haha but I dont have any trouble riding my old 06 mate, But yea it is certainly a more refined machine thats for sure, They dont seem to have lost any of the apealing characteristics of the old rmz either which is good. I would buy one myself but i figure you need every advantage you can get lol.
