Greetings,

The time is nearly on us for round 2 of the "Kaitoke Trials" at the Kaitoke Kart Track.

We will have strict scrutineering on each bike that is racing (including mine too !!). I would like to see that the buckets (and riders if poss ;) ) are in a presentable condition too and don't look like they're falling apart.
If it involves a little spray of a spraycan here and there then it would be appreciated. If you see what the Karts look like and the megabuck anodising then you will understand why I ask this.
There will be forms ticked off at scrutineering to ensure the bikes meet the minimum standard to race and the rider will sign these on completion to avoid any hassles.

Alrighties...this is who I have listed to race. Please let me know if your name is not on here and you would like to race by PM'ing me.

Now, Grub was looking at racing this weekend on his bucket, but unfortunately .......
Therefore, we will be doing a dedicated race in his memory and I will be handing out black armbands for everyone to wear in his honour.

We also may look at doing an A & B class race if more riders attend.

Looking forward to it :)

The weather may not co-operate (looking at the long range on Metvuw (http://www.metvuw.co.nz/forecast/forecast.php?type=rain&region=nzni&noofdays=7)) but I'm still keen as.

Mate keen for a run on the weekend just getting the nylons on the front forks sorted. Do you need a proper race licence for the meet or is a sign on the day like slipway?

Nudey...bloody good job old boy!

All going well, it looks like we could secure an excellent track for the bucket scene in Wellington!!

You should post the checklist so riders can "self-scrutineer" before getting to the track and having it done proper. It could save disappointment on the day.

Same as Slipway in that regard.

Thanks Slingy, good idea :)

Here's the list that we're going to be looking for.

Handlebar ends plastic plugged
Clutch and brake levers ball ended
Front end and rear swingarm nyloned if close or touching the ground
Footpegs either alloy & folding and/or nylon ended
Sidestands to be removed prior to racing if they touch down.
Anything likely to gouge the surface such as mufflers to be nyloned
Sump/oil drain plug safety wired
Oil filler cap wired or hose clipped
Axle nuts safety wired or R-clipped
Catch bottle (& securely fastened) for crankcase breather
Kill switch (either switch or push button) to be present
Rear brake pedals must have a spring-return.
Bucket to have adequate numbering on the number boards.

Any queries / hassles, get in contact with me.
Cheers

Also REMEMBER !!!

7.30am start at the track.

Yup, early outa bed !!

It's because they run 7.30am till 8.30am scrutineering, drivers/riders briefing at 8.45am, then practice/ tuning run from 9.00am.
We have to do our own scrutineering also.

Let's also not takeover the under-cover pits like we did last time. It wasn't ours to take but they graciously gave it to us anyway.

Been working hard on the FXR, now has new RS tail and lots of nylon. Splash of paint and should look the part. What is the cost on the day?

Cheers

It is $45.00.
There is an excellent cafe there and they have EFTPOS so no leaky thermos and soggy sammies needed to bring ;)

Unfortunately not able to get the old girl up to scrutineering standard so will be spectating rather than riding on Sunday.

Don't give in !!

Bring her out (with your riding gear) and we all should be able to get her to an acceptable standard :)
