Help....please!
OK, so I'm a dumb arse... I lost my keys to my ZXR, and can't find my spare set.

Is there some lock code or somewhere so I get a new one cut? if so where is it? on the ignition barrel somewhere? (I know on cars it's the drivers door)

It's on the passenger door on a ZXR.

suck's when that happen's . you may have to take your ignition barrel off and take it to a locksmith, they should be able to make a new key to fit. i had to do that a few year's back

What you do is thank your lucky stars it's not a modern bike.

You'd be looking at a grand to sort out something with an immobiliser.

i used to know a trick where you can remove a wire under ignition and just hit the start button but it was on a old xr 250

that was the only way i could get a new key for my Buell. after I lost the only key it came with, had to wait 6 weeks for them.

 Um, yes...... I guaranteed that this would happen by following these steps...
1. Angle grind off the lock, move bike to a more secure location overnight.
2.Take friggin public transport home, and I HATE BUSES!
3.Turn room upside down, twice(accompanied by the appropriate swearing and cursing).....locate spare set of keys
4. Take spare set to locksmith on the way to work
5. Arrive at work to find them hanging behind my desk where i now have a vague recollection of putting them(instead of my usual place... ie with the rest of my gear) SHAME I COULDN"T HAVE REMEMBERED YESTERDAY!!!!:brick::brick::brick:

:stupid:I think it is beer'o'clock ...:jerry:

Usually I biff my gloves, keys and sunglasses inside my helmet when I've reached my destination.Did this at work one day, stored me helmet etc on top of me locker, end of shift, grabbed helmet etc but as they are tall lockers didn't see my keys left there....long story short...had to get new house keys, car keys, car alarm remote, locker keys etc made up only to turn up to work after the weekend to find the cleaner had found them,on the friday I had lost em and forgot about em till I posted on the blardy notice board on the blardy freakin Monday!!!

Yeah, that would be the cleaner's fault.

Omg...being a bit OCD I would have gone mental about finding them too. I did lose my bike keys once, turned the house upside down looking for them, they normally hang on the 'key' hook in the office (thankfully being ocd means I already have a 2nd set 'just in case")but anyway out of pure bloody mindedness I refused to use the spare set till the first ones were found.
2 days later after I say I have looked everywhere for them and am about to give up Smart alec 10yr old suggests no....I have not looked down the back of the couch... smart arse... So I tip a chair forward to have a feel if there is anything in the back and there was a lump... 1 6cm cut to the chair later I found my keys... relieved but annoyed. Must of fallen out of the back of my jeans when I sat down:blink:
