I read an article in last months Bike Rider mag about the RC30 cleaning up in the 1988 round of the world superbikes held at Manfeild. Out of interest i was wondering if anybody knew of this bike ever hitting our shores (outside of the superbike camp). The still command around 15,000 pounds when sold in the UK (around NZD$40,000)

Yeah, there were at least a couple that landed here. A guy from the Vic club (Geoff ?) way back had one, and I think Bruce Anstey raced it once at manfeild a long while ago. Sadly, due to a sligh engine building mistake, it expired that day and I can't remember it ever being rebuilt. Sad :(

There was one in at Whiting Honda for a bit. I believe it was bought by an Australian and shipped over there. I actually owned one back in about 95 for 6 months or so but it wasn't very practical so I swapped it for a Fireblade which honestly was a better bike for what I wanted.

I had a brand spanking new one when they came here. I think 20 came in to the country at the time and most of them got snaped up. Price back then if i remember was $16000

This is a fucking magnificient thing.
There is actually one in England that is in a glass cabinet that has come out of the Honda factory and has not been touched since, 0km fresh rubber from 20 years back. The price must be unimaginable but just imagine having the thing!

So it'll be a shitload cheaper than a still-stock one, eh?
Collectors are weird.
