Heard a couple of songs on the Axe attack last night, anything with a shredding guitar solo is imo worthy of a listen though I'm no great fan of the band. And my knowledge of them is extremely limited.


My next purchase is going to be the master of shred who done the Burn reworking, That was killer.

So, after 3 days of not changing CD in the player I still want more from this album. That can not be bad.

For those who know Mudvayne this "The New Game" will sound very familiar. No new tricks have been added. But there is no need for them. For those of us who like what the band have done in the past this will fit in nicely. I did see them in Akl a few years ago and very much enjoyed the raw energy.

In this album I detect a fraction of more commercialism, or perhaps it is as a result of the guys becoming more professional? Or perhaps it is me, it might just be that I am so used to their sound that I am accustomised to it.

Thinking that the answer would have been something like "it changed, sort of got more polished". But the reply I got was: "Thank good it is over, same crap all of it..."

So perhaps an aquired taste is needed?

I am glad I have this latest offering. After 3 days I do not have a favorite song. As soon as I think I have one, by next listening I change my mind...

I give the album 4/5. But my mate gave it zero...

havent heard the new album but its on the download queue. always worth a few listens mudvayne. a bit to complex musically for alot of people. and weird quite often.

Saw them live about 5 years back in the rain in washinton DC. small crowd but they put their guts on the stage and made a decent performance. unfortunatly were outshone by all those who followed (except the deftones) but was still a good show.

Sadly it seems that they are getting less and less 'complicated' with each passing album.
