I'm looking to fit a fuel gauge to my VL250. One of the lads here said you could buy one fitted into the petrol cap. I wondered if anyone out there had seen these and if they are any good.

Cheers all

I dunno if you can do it, but personally I wouldn't bother. Of all the bikes I've owned, only three have had fuel gauges. For all the others, I just reset the tripmeter each time I filled up. There wasn't a HUGE variation in mileage with different riding, and it was as good an indicator of when to fill up as a gauge would be.

+1 on the tripmeter. I reset mine and get a similar mileage to lights on each time. Happens to be about 250km on the ducati and 350 km on the BMW. Plus you can go out to the garage and instantly see how far you can get before having to fill up.
