Be intresting to hear III / Short Circuit's thoughts on this piece.

Chris Trotter, who normally leans so far left he can barely keep his balance, appears to have 'had an epiphany' and seen the light that comes in the form of our new PM, John Key.

He seems to now think that perhaps having aspirations and encouraging people to get off their arses, instead of living off the state and dragging everyone down to the lowest common denominator, has some merit after all.

Or was it that perhaps now that his daughter has achieved something, he wants her 'to do well'.

Funny what having kids can do to your outlook on life, eh?

I've just re-read this article and still can't believe that these words came from a man so seemingly entrenched...

Or maybe its because John Key is so far left that he's only a touch right of Heil Clark. Phil Goff may be even more right wing than Key.

Only ACT are the true center right party left in NZ.

Coupla things:

I read the somewhat surprising article yesterday but can't understand the connection to cleaning artillery pieces. (Worms turning???)

ACT are a centre right party.... (Insert Tui ad here.)
ACT are the looney right, but we need them to counter the Greens on the looney left...

If you don't support the left as a youth ... you have no heart.

If you don't support the right as an adult ... you have no brain.

If you look at the political spectrum on an international basis, ACT is New Zealand's only right wing party, and it it is center right. National are slightly left of center. It is only because our whole country is leftist that ACT appear as the looney right. Don't forget that most ACT members and supportes are ex Labour.
