The rebuilt CBR is complete. Took it from Picton - Akaroa on sat and back again yesterday. Loved every second on it!

hopefully I can get the attachments to work of before and after. The completed bike is not such a flash photo as I took it on my phone cos I cannot find the USB cable for my camera

Wow, nice job Stevo. Pity we missed you on Saturday, we didn't end up staying as long as I thought we would. You could've swapped notes with Gav, he's been doing something similar.
Were you nervous about riding it? When I rebuilt my last bike (VFR700) I nearly dropped it on the gravel car park outside work 'cause I was paranoid about binning it, which made me nervous, which made me ride like a total noob.

Good on you for completing it.
Always rewarding doing things yourself.

As for your first statement- my lovely wife has never complained at new bike or maintence issues, probably because it saves me annoying her too :yeah:

That is correct.

I had all the fairings done professionally as I had heard they come up a lot better when they are done in the oven.
They guy did a fantastic job on them.

As for the ride. I have been buzzing ever since Saturday when we headed to Chch. Was hoping to show it off to a few more Kbers tho :killingme :killingme
Just Joking (I think). Certainly pretty proud of it tho.

Better still it performed as good as it looked, which is always the bonus!

Man! I am sure you're takin the piss. I realised the sun was a little strong at the time BUT orange???

ROFLMAO in real life it's Honda red

This is true. The fastest bikes are red bikes. This is why Honda and Ducati have fought out the WSB series for the last god knows how many years. The other manufacturers just haven't got it figured that if their bikes were red too they (might) be competitive. But Shhhhhhhhhh don't tell them!

That's a pretty pretty lookin' bike! What happened to it?

Was lowsided and written off due to fairing damage as well as the exhaust ruined. The guy before me bought the carbon fibre exhaust, footrests and other stuff. The hardest thing was getting decent second hand parts. The fairings came from Victoria M/c wreckers and nearly everything else off eBay. Including (Kickaha calls wank factor, and prob rightly so) fancy little turn signals, hugger, lol. The hugger was more than I budgeted on but I guess I had to make the bike a little different.
Oh............................. no that's the hugger makes it go faster! :killingme
