Yes, I have a GPS unit on my bike, it's under test at the moment (battery drain is necessitating a charger be plugged in). Useful as a telemetry device on the racetrack too. Also, it draws a nice little map as to where the scumbags have taken it, and coincidentally, and not related at all, where that house will later burn to it's foundations. :)

Will keep an eye out for it this way and Clevedon way. It's a pretty recognisable bike so if I see it I'm sure my brain will click!

Hi, Good luck mate. Ive had 4 bikes stolen over the years, even found the crims with last 2 & they got next to nothing. Only got 1 of those bikes back but not as I knew it. Came back midnight raiding matt black with no identification plates.
Do some rearch yourself as NZ police are hopeless ,well that was my experience.
Guesing it wasnt insured. Good luck

dude.what might mistake it for a harley...
You'd be suprised... I get asked if my Intruder is a Harley too many times for my liking... it's got shot gun pipes and is loud, that's all the non-bikers care!

As above...
I've seen your bike in the past, unfortunately not since it was pinched - 'tis a good looking steed mate.
I'm just down the road from you, which is kinda scarey - might be time to start doing the floor anchoring thing I've been meaning to for the last year or two...
Anyhoo, I get around a bit in Auckland with work, so will keep an eye out for ya - good luck with the recovery.

I got the GPS unit because each and everytime I parked for a while, someone dodgy looking was taking an interest in scoot. One was having a go, and he needed to sleep for a while.
Cost, we're not sure of final costings yet, but likely around $1000 for unit and install. The tool is also a data logger for track time, so it's expensive as an alarm / GPS, but it's cheap if you take into account the other stuff. Also, if the bike goes on it's side, we're working out how to do a man down alarm.
As for hidden, the unit is small, and it's reasonably easy to conceal.

Hey Peter, I saw the poster you got at the Mobil on Grove Rd. I've got all the bikers at my house on the look out for it too - there's 3 of us with our eyes peeled, all pootling round Papakura/Karaka/Clevedon etc most days.
Best of luck to ya. I'm going to install something here too for our bikes.

I put a Snitch GPS tracking device on my harley and am delighted with it.
Here's (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=971706#post971706) a report I wrote.
Good luck with getting it back!
