I went over the Otira Gorge the wrong way a few weeks ago and made a shocking mess of my bike but came off unscathed myself. I tumbled down the bank headover heels over large rocks. The only thing I suffered was shock. At the fact I was unhurt!! My gear is the Kevlar stuff with with strong armour. I am 60 and have been riding since I was 15 and grew up with leather gear. But age and common sense forced me to keep warm and protect myself better so I hung the leathers up. The warmth made the new gear an absolute winner and this latest test prompts me to try and convince others that this new gear is the ducks nuts. Some of you may be contemplating buying new clothing/crash gear. If so, for my five bobs worth the kevlar shielded stuff is amazing..... If you wish to drink from the fountain of youth; get a Daytona 675

I would've thought that the kevlar would've made little difference to the damage from tumbling, and that you could attribute that to your armour.

I've got some kevlar bits on the elbows and shoulders of one of my jackets - they're padded areas with kevlar material over the top. They are much better for abrasion resistance than cordura, but not as good as leather. (I also have CE armour in pockets on the inside of the jacket - it's great have the dual level of protection). :niceone:

It's 2008 old fella. Good safety gear IS fashionable. :-)
Some of that old school looking Triumph gear I've been using has Knox CE armour.
Glad yer OK.

Good to hear you're ok and your gear looked after you!
I've had bad experience with Cordura recently, but no experience with Kevlar. I'm pleased to hear you've found something that works for you.
Enjoy your riding mate. :niceone:
Cheers.
