Calling all KBs...
If any Wellingtonian bikers and their mols choose to ride out on Friday this week after work, I can thoroughly recommend the Haywards route from Upper Hutt to Mana via the Paicockaleekie Hill (or whatever its called!)
Suitable refreshmants could be taken at the Sandbar in Mana for example where the Pukekos will be playing some live blues from 9pm and yours truly will be on drums. With free entry, what more could you ask for...?
Dont answer that! Is this a plug? Never!

Ah! Well in that case WT.... funny you should mention that....but we are also playing the Bristol in Cuba Street this very Thursday. Nuff said.
Except! I seem to remember a wee notice on the door at the aforementioned venue saying "no motorycle leathers" Guess that means its OK if you are wearing Goretex!

God NO! Not on fridays... Anything can happen!
We live in Kapiti and if it's a nice evening and I get home at a sensible time then a quick trundle down to coast to listen to some blues fllowed by a gentle burble home sounds just the ticket for the Vickster and myself.!
Sandbar is the one set back from the main road behind the car parky thing on the left (going north) just before the petrol station eh?

Yeah - just towards town past the McDonald in the Shell station. Can you get a babysitter and take Mrs B? We could leave from our place 8.15 or so.

Well, what a great response! OK so we wont fill Wembley Stadium but sounds like the Sandbar might make a few extra quid on Friday. Bring your earplugs! Small venue - loud band! Thanks for your support guys (and gals). Off to rehearse now... we've never played before! JOKE!
Look forward to meeting you in the break maybe. No, Im not buying you all a pint...the Sandbar aint paying us that much!

I was actually thinking of coming, till you mentioned ear plugs. I really don't like loud music, does some weird shit to my ears, crackle.......
Can I stand outside and hassle the patrons?

Dont worry SC, I was kidding. We do consider the patrons inside. But you'd be surprised how many punters sit right in front of the band and expect to hold a conversation.

Bloody brilliant stuff, Ninj'.
We were upstairs on the tables and some WANKER kept cranking the jukebox up so we had shit music in one ear and you guys in the other.
What I heard of you guys was impressive and a hell of a lot of people were up dancing which is a good sign.
Good night out, thanks.

As apposed to the music which was nice...
Good selection of white boy blues played with enthusiasim... ya can't get better than that. Nice drumming..

Hey! Thanks Paul and WT
Cheers guys for coming along to support the Pukekos!
Shame we didnt eyeball and yak for five minutes.
We dont have a return match at the Bristol cos they rotate so many bands that it can take three months to get in again.
But you can get live blues there every Thursday. And Lynda and I get along most Thursdays if only to get out of the house! So maybe we can still hook up.
As for the Sandbar, we have four bookings between now and June.
Pretty much one a month. Will post the dates nearer the time.
Ride safe me old muckers!

Just thought I'd better clarify that this is Mrs Ninja51, not me (just in case anyone asks Hamish what he does on Thursday nights when I'm out with Ninja51!!)

Indeed! We dont want any mix ups, and I dont want a black eye from Hamish either thanks! ....or Mrs Ninja51 for that matter. And we cant even differentiate by calling one of you Lynda "B" cos you both are! And... whats more it seems you are both blonde!! Not sure whether this is a good thing to admit, but (my) Lynda's surname is Beckham...and before you ask, yes she is related! Breaks the ice at parties though!
