but if they let me past, thank you.

I'll only follow if the person is Riding decently, and knows how to ride with another bike behind him..

If the rider is quicker than me, he/she can pass me. If we are at a similar pace, I quite enjoy playing cat and mouse. If the rider is slower than me, I'd pass him/her then try to ride together by looking in my mirrors if I feel like it by going a bit slower or if I don't feel like slowing down, I'd carry on.

If they're riding about my speed, Im quite happy to sit behind and let them flush out the radars, cameras, HP cars etc.
If slower than me, will sit behind for a couple of mins, then make my way onwards and past!

If slower, I usually sit behind for a coupla mins to check them out ( ala Biff Baff), the make my way onwards and past!

I HOPE THAT 313 WAS RECORDED FROM SOMETHING APART FROM YOUR SPEEDO. ID PUT A $20 BET DOWN THAT YOUR R1 WOULD BE SLOWER THAN ANY GSXR1000. THE MOST FULLY WORKED R1 RACE BIKE IN OZ OR NZ WAS RADARED AT 308KMH AND IT WAS A REAL GRENADE

What I'm gonna do is follow Aaron for a while on, "his roads", then, just when he thinks he's actually, "teaching", someone, I'll let the Gixxer Beast loose and pass him.

I'm of the same opinion as alarumba on this. I not only enjoy riding bikes, I also like watch good riders handle their bikes. The best place to do this is by sitting about 2 seconds behind them. However if they are just too slow, or don't know how to ride, then I'll pass and sit in front of them for a while.

Yea Arron haven't found along enough safe straight road . Oyea Suzuki's have 300k limiter's in them so I did well to get this . Have put K/n Filter &
TRE {Timing Retarder Eliminator } into bike on Saturday which put's full HP to 1st & 2nd gear as well as takes out the 300k limiter so will try again .Only managed 312k on my old 93 GSXR1100R with Stage 3 Kit in it around 170RWHP so you must have 1 really good 99 R1 :spudwhat: Going to check out a back road this week that may do the Job . Will be in the evening when the air is alot cooler & need a few other pair's of eye's to look out for me .

If i catch up to another rider it's because I was riding quicker than them so I'll pass 'em pretty well right away...unless they speed up when they see me in their mirrors...then I'm happy to follow as long as they're riding well and still quickly enough for me not to want to pass 'em.

im a shit rider so i like to let them pass me then just follow and then fall behind them . but i hate it when some cock passes ya on a straight then slows down on the corners then takes off again.
so if this happens i pass them and piss off. if i can.
like i said im crap so can only pass nifty 50s.

like most of you guys I will pass if I catch up. But sometimes I have been passed by idiots that have no respect for other people on the same section of road so I will let them go. I am a "fast'' rider but still try to be courteous to others on the road.

That explains a lot--Um that wasnt 313 km/h it was 31.3 --that ol maryjuwana sure dose stuff ya sense of speed.
As I've said before the US air force has trained chimps to fly in a straight line at High speed.
They found that the chimps had promlems though turning corners
Get My point .
Ive recently seen a guy on a RG150 destroy guys on much bigger bikes
in some semi tight windies.
Oh and to answer the question --Im so darn slow none can be fagged waiting for me :wari:

I usually just sit behind them. But when I do I make myself known to them in case I want to pass. Unlike the wankers on the BMW's that hooned past me on the Waipu straight's, causing me to want to change me undies.

If slower than me, will sit behind for a couple of mins, then make my way onwards and past!Much the same. If I'm just cruising and a bike passes I offen change mode and chase/follow them for bit. Really fast riders will leave me standing still think ether:
Fu*k that rider is a nut case. No way I would stick my head that far over the centreline on a blind right hander.
Wow, fu*k that rider makes those corners look so smooth. Wish I could ride like that.
Want-a-be fast riders just might find they are put in their place.
PS: if I'm on my home roads and I slow down, beaware that I may know something you don't (eg. road known to be cop heavy, road often has pea metal in that corner, there has been the odd cow on the road around that corner.).

Ditto. Though I found Biff Baff kinda hard to get past in a straight line- fuggen Blackbirds and Busa's, I have to ring the Fizzers kneck to get past coming out of a corner...mutter mutter
Oh and if they're behind me and obviously faster I'll make sure they can get by.

i hate the dickheads that see you coming then suddenly speed right up going into a tight section leaving you to sit behind them till it's safe to pass. when overtaking another bike i like to give us both as much room & notice as possible. the same goes if someone wanted to overtake me. courtesy is the key word for me.

What on earth is "decent" riding when another biker is behind?
Id have thought it more important that the rider behind should know how to position him/herself in relation to the rider infront. ie keep to the left and not too close so that the leading rider can see clearly behind before overtaking. In other words, let the leading rider use all the road and take his or her lines appropriately regardless of standard and ability.

I have a top of the range radar detector that also senses female hormones. Oh, and I check out riders buts....Aaron's is cute.
I've never been a balls out racer, so I'm the annoying bastard that flies by you on a straight then gets in your face on tight twisties. As much as I love my Bird, and as fast as she is, even around long sweepers, just like a Busa she gets tied up easily on tight twisties.
But I'll happily sit behind slower bikes like R1's and Gixxer 1k's ( :shake: ) on the straights just so that I don't pi$$ them off around the twisties.

I like to check how the rider um rides, ya dont wana pass or try to have em turn into you or freak out when you do pass. Faster riders yea i'll up my pace if they come by and pass em again if i'm "comfortably" faster than them, i wont stick my neck out to get by em, eh most of the time, sometimes the red mist gets the better of you.
Motorways i dont bother racing anyone, too dangerous cage/police wise, and my bike dont got a lot of top end compared to newer bikes these days so i promptly get disposed of in a straight line. :weep: need more horsepower, well no i dont need new bike :yeah:
