Now I've sold my RGV and I want another bike, preferably sans valve springs. I did have a ride on a 748 BP and loved it but her indoors reckons the back seat is worse than the RGV so its not an option :weep:

The STs and later SSs don't do it for me, so that brings me to a Darmah.

I've always wanted one and almost bought a new one in 1980 but saved $1,000 and bought a GS1000.

Although I'd prefer a pristine example I'm not afraid of a bit of restoration as long as the bike is complete and not too badly trashed. Obviously the price would need to reflect the amount of work the bike needs.

I'm a cash buyer so is there anyone out there wanting to make a bit more space in the shed and that old Desmo is getting in the way? Need some money to pay the mortgage on those ten rental properties that the nice real estate agent told you would be a sure bet? Then I'm your man ;)

Although I'm in Otago, I'm willing to look at a bike anywhere in New Zealand. I'll be in Auckland this Friday (November 21) and I'll be in Wellington for a few days in December.

Call me on 03 481 7245 or send me a private message or email me stan@netspeed.net.nz

BTW. The $1 price in the ad is because it wouldn't let me post without a price.

Yes. A freind had a look at the Wellington one and advised caution. I'm up there in a couple of weeks so I'll check it out myself if it's still around. Don't know about the Christchurch one but I will check it out.

There was another one the other day with motor in bits for $4,000. I'm not afraid of a project but I'd rather not be assembling a jigsaw that someone else pulled apart.

My neighbour has a 81 model, absolutely mint. 27000kms on it. Has always had a Duc mech work on it.
He's just had a brain anuerism and is recovering and not meant to drive/ride for months.
He may want to part with it, I can ask him.
I've ridden it, and its still 'tight'. Oo eerr........:buggerd:

Jeez I would hate to benefit from someone's brain aneurism ..... but ask, ask ;-)

In his position, I'd say exactly the same thing. Wish him well for me, I hope he'll be back on the Duc soon.

Hi Roger

Yes, I did. I've only just got around to finishing the RGV and selling it off. Its bloody cold and damp in the shed in Otago winters :cold:

You're not thinking of parting with the old beast are you?
