(Or Z bars) they were handle bar replacements that went forward then shaped like clip ons.

Ventura did them in the 80s but were killed off by rules that welded bars not allowed apparently. These were a horrible idea anyway, yes they got the bars further forward, which was a good idea on some 70/80s bikes, but they gave a weird disconnected kind of feel.

Ok so now we can all joke about them, this is really a trawl. (yeah I could have put it in the classfd section, but not much chance of finding any that way).

I’m after some for a bucket that needs them. Have you got some old rusty or bent ones in a corner of a garage & would like to trade for pictures of the queen?

Buell 1125CR has bars like that and generally speaking Buell's parts aren't that expensive. Give the Scooter Centre a call and see if they can help

I'm a bit keen on the CR. It's fat and ugly like me, but still has some "moves".

Velo bars did a similar thing without being welded. Don't think they'd work so well with fairings, though, that was why the Ace bars had to be welded, I think

Zebraman. If I don't get any yes I would love to borrow some for the Taupo GP meet for a borrowed Kawi 100, I could fire you some money for a courier.

Otherwise anyone else have some they could part with?

I'm not buying new ones for a Buell at WMC prices. Not for a borrowed bike & not as my play money is going to be somewhat reduced when we are down to one income. Yeah go on, laugh it up Jim.

Didn't Ventura make them?

Couldn't you just buy some stainless tube ($30), hire a pipe bender ($50) and take the result to a pet welder ($50) ?

You can still get them as far as I know. Bought a set last year for the 550/4. Cost $50 or thereaabouts at the time from Manawatu Motorcycles here in Palmerston North.

My 7/8" bars where made by- http://yellow.co.nz/companies/Tubular-Steel-Products/Manx-Manufacturing-Ltd/100636141_1666.html

Tommaselli (available through Eurobike) do a similar bar that has adjustable 'clip on' sections. RRP $180.

Velo bars did a similar thing without being welded.

The BSA bars did too - The standard bars could be inverted to make drop bars. That was so the Goldstar Clubman could be raced in completely standard trim.Plenty of BSA bend bars around, but the drop wouldn't be as much as Z bars. They were the thing to do to the RD350 and 400....the dorky look that went well with a mustard coloured leather jacket.

Thanks for that link Bonez,I've been trying to find out who could bend me some bars.

Thanks for that link Bonez,I've been trying to find out who could bend me some bars. You're most welcome. My bars had the rements of a MANX sticker on them. Made in Auckland N.Z. was quite clear, did a google search and WAMMO!!

Just looked at the aftermarket bars on the CX. Ventura bars with a mild low(around 11/2" rise) bend. They'd do the job as well if mounted upside down.

hey F5, dont worry about the courier mate, i'm racing at taupo anyways so i'll bring them with me, and get them to you then, saves some hassle. As a trade, i want one lap on the kwakka 100:niceone:
